BREAKING: Israeli Forces and Settlers Retaliate Against Palestinian Activist Featured in BBC’s The Settlers
Prominent Palestinian human rights activist Issa Amro—recently featured in @louistheroux’s BBC documentary The Settlers—shares video of Israeli soldiers raiding his home in Hebron today in retaliation for his appearance in the film. After they left, settlers stormed the house, assaulted him and others, cut down trees, and stole tools and garbage containers.
Amro shares video of an exchange with an Israeli police officer later who threatened him with arrest if he filed a complaint.
Amro is the founder of Youth Against Settlements (YAS), a nonviolent group that documents Israeli abuses and organizes peaceful resistance in the occupied West Bank. He has long faced retaliation from both Israeli forces and the Palestinian Authority. In 2017, he was arrested by the PA for criticizing its leadership online. In 2023, Israeli forces expelled him from his home after he hosted a journalist and an Israeli activist.

The soldiers raided my house today, they wanted to revenge from me for participating in the @BBC documentary “ the settlers” , after the army left the settlers raided my house, they injured one activist and cut the tree, they stole tools and the garbage containers.

The USDA says egg prices could increase 41% this year.
Meanwhile, the industry is more consolidated than ever and revenues are rising.
Cal-Maine Foods controls a fifth of the egg market. Its revenue jumped 82% in a year—driven by an "increase in the net average selling price."
Private equity greed strikes again. Fire fighting equipment. If we don't get this under control we won't have much of a society left.
This was one of the most appalling stories I’ve ever looked into: A private equity termite rolled up the fire-truck manufacturing industry between 2016 and 2020—and has spent the last 5 years cashing in: doubling the price of fire apparatus, delaying order deliveries for years on end, and contributing to a crisis of preparedness at fire departments around the country.

Walmart paid $9 billion less in taxes after Trump's tax cuts.
Target paid $3 billion less. Verizon paid $10 billion less. AT&T paid $8 billion less.
Notice how those tax breaks didn't incentivize any of these corporations to lower prices?
Corporate tax cuts don't lower costs.

America's four largest potato producers allegedly conspired to raise prices on frozen fries, hash browns, and tater tots by 47%.
This tater trust controls more than 95% of the potato market.

A big misstep for The Borg not to assimilate the billionaire owner of the Gazette before this decision; but they only assimilate those that will add something valuable to the collective.
