I remember when I first started trading I knew nothing about trading psychology until I started losing trades and then like many I turned to the book Trading in the zone by Mark Douglas. I still didn't learn from my mistakes and continued trading. At that stage it was emotional trading along with my ego assisting. Fear, greed, revenge trading you name it... I was doing everything but following my plan. You want to know what changed? It was persistence and experience with the markets. Over time I learnt what worked and what didn't. There isn't any secret formula or a holy grail system. It's just you versus you. Take control of your emotions and backtest the hell out of your strategy. That's the only way you will grow.

Not every trading day needs to be a winning day. Some days you make money. Some days you learn. Both are part of the journey.

Trading is a long game. Your first year is about learning the markets, making mistakes and figuring out what works for you. Treat your education like a university course. There's no need to rush it.

WHY DO I GET INTO THE HABIT OF REVENGE TRADING? Because losing money triggers emotions that cloud your judgement. Your ego wants to prove you're right. Your frustration wants to recover the loss. You want to make money quickly, so you start abandoning your trading rules. But remember: You cannot fix an emotional problem with another trade. A loss doesn't need revenge. It needs acceptance. Start today with discipline, patience and a clear mind. Protect your psychology, and you protect your edge.

Never lose your faith in trading. I started with $6,000 at 19 and no clue. 16 years later I have an 8-figure portfolio. But this year I lost $1.9 million on a silver trade in a flash crash. The difference between the ones who make it and the ones who don’t? I was at my desk the next morning. The ones who don’t make it quit showing up. Your current situation isn’t your final destination. Keep going.

One trade means nothing. One week tells you very little. Even one month is a relatively small sample size. Think in hundreds of trades. It's a game of probabilities. Your edge reveals itself over a large sample size, not a handful of outcomes.

Steven Pressfield calls it Resistance. That inner voice that makes you hesitate, overthink and question yourself when it’s time to do the work. In trading it might show up when your setup appears, when you avoid reviewing a difficult day, or when you feel the urge to abandon your system because you’re afraid of being wrong. Sometimes the challenge isn’t knowing what to do. It’s dealing with what comes up when it’s time to do it.

Profitable trading is 80% mechanical and 20% discretionary. It requires the discipline to follow your trade plan at all times, while still having the awareness to adapt when market conditions change and the confidence to trust your intuition when it is loud enough.

The difference between an A+ setup and a trade that doesn't fit your plan? Your ability to keep out of the market and put your energy elsewhere.

Recently I noticed some variance in my live trading that wasn't quite lining up with my data. So I took a closer look, investigated what was happening and made a few refinements. Am I still profitable? Absolutely. Will I continue to be? You bet. Trading is never about getting everything right all the time. Sometimes things need tweaking and that's part of the process. The key to longevity in the markets is being willing to adapt and refine when needed. 💪

Trading is a struggle. Months of losing. Months of doubt. Months of learning. Months of grinding without results. Then one day... It clicks. The chart makes sense. Your mindset levels up. Your trades get better. And finally.. the profits start coming. Be patient. Great things take time.

Trading shouldn't consume your entire life. The more pressure you put on every trade to make money, the harder it becomes to think clearly. Build a life outside the markets. A balanced trader is often a better trader.

The best traders don't need to know what happens next. They accept that anything can happen, manage their risk and execute without hesitation.

The secret isn't finding the perfect trading strategy. It's having a clear plan and following it without constantly second-guessing yourself. 1. Know what you're waiting for. 2. Wait for your criteria to align. 3. Define your risk before entering. 4. Accept that losses are part of the game. 5. Stop when your rules tell you to stop. A trading plan doesn't need to be complicated. Keep it simple. Stay consistent.

Two traders take a loss. Trader A jumps straight back into the market. He needs to make it back. He forces a setup. He trades out of frustration. Trader B steps away. Accepts the loss. Waits for the next valid setup. What's the difference? Trader A tries to escape the pain of losing. Trader B learns to sit with it without acting on it. But here's the part most traders overlook: You need an outlet for that frustration. Step away. Go for a walk. Journal your thoughts. Process the loss. Don't try to recover it through another trade. Your next trade should come from your plan, not your pain.

A slow day in the market doesn’t mean you’re falling behind. You’re not paid to be busy. You’re paid to be selective.

The gym reminds you that progress comes from doing the basics consistently, not chasing results overnight. Trading is no different. You don’t need to be perfect every day. You just need to show up and keep stacking good decisions. Consistency builds what motivation never could.

Trading gets easier when you focus your energy on the right things. Your preparation. Your decisions. Your risk management. You can't control the market, but you can control how you approach it. Sometimes keeping it simple and focusing on what you can control makes all the difference.

The best things in life are the hardest to achieve Trading is so hard, but when you make it it’s better than any other profession or job You set your own hours, you have location freedom and you can make $10,000s a month from 1-3 hours of work a day If achieving something like that was easy, everyone would do it Of course trading is hard - but it’s worth the hard work too
