Remembering the late, great Dolly, who brought joy, comfort and inspiration to so many - including the millions of children given free books through her Imagination Library. We will always ❤️ you.
Here’s another funny angle to this story. This wasn’t the usual @wesruckerTBA college sports story. The mammoth story in question was about drug testing in professional cycling that I forced him to write in a year when the Tour de Georgia had a stage finish in Chattanooga!!
Was reminded of a funny @wesruckerTBA story from his early days on the UTC beat for the TFP. He had a story that he felt needed to go longer than the usual inch-count for features (20-inch stories were the norm, but Wes typically felt every word he wrote was a pearl, and needed more space LOL), so @JFTanner told him pretty sternly, "Fine, Wes, but we don't have space for some 70-inch novel." When the story came in - at a whopping 68 inches long (which would essentially eat up an entire page) - Wes called and deadpanned, "I kept it under 70, just like you said."
Like most of you guys who follow along on #VolTwitter, I've read so many of the posts about Wes, and it's just sort of a surreal feeling. Again, please keep his family in prayer in the coming days.
As the editor on the desk that night, I was livid at the time. But it was also hilarious. And it was a fact-packed 68-inches of copy. I will miss him as will everyone. He was one of a kind.

IMPORTANT RESEARCH ⤵️
Our appetite for top notch research is insatiable. The minute that @georgiatechfb accepted an invitation to the @PopTartsBowl , our best engineers, roboticists, and scientists set out to answer the ultimate research question — which @PopTartsUS flavor is, empirically, the best?

Never cheer in the press box. Go buy a ticket and scream your lungs out. But once you're in that space, it's a job. If that's too difficult, this job isn't for you. I told my students I would embarrass them if I saw them cheering or wearing team colors in the press box.
Good look by @genehenley3 at how UTC @GoMocsMBB coach Dan Earl built an NIT championship team in Chattanooga. timesfreepress.com/news/2025…
What is an NIT championship really worth? For the @UTChattanooga Mocs and Chattanooga, Thursday night’s title win means more than just a @GoMocsMBB trophy on a shelf.

UTC guards Trey Bonham and Honor Huff will end their @GoMocsMBB partnership tonight — hopefully by bringing an NIT championship to @UTChattanooga. But win or lose, their bond will endure.

To kick off Women’s History Month, we celebrate Chattanooga Lookouts legend, Jackie Mitchell!
At just 17 years old, she famously struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig back-to-back on April 2, 1931 in an exhibition game between the Lookouts and Yankees at Historic Engel Stadium.
