Thought first half was much better. Second half scrappy but great to hang on. Some really good performances especially from Burrows, Arblaster, Phillips and Kitching. Donovan was brilliant when he came on⚔️

Would love to see this tonight. Don’t think 4-4-2 is working and Wilder hinted at using a 4-3-3 last week. Hopefully use the midfield three to control possession as all three are more than capable of that⚔️

A few thoughts on the season so far: It was always going to be a struggle in the window with us needing to sell and being in the loan and free market. I’m hoping we’ve now got ourselves in a position where we are aligned with the rules and can start attacking the market with only one or two big sales over the next few windows. However, while I think it’s very unlikely we get near play offs due to the lack of balance in the squad, it’s still really important we don’t throw away this season. We need to build a style of play and system, like we did from 2016-2020, which the academy can follow and allows us to recruit specific profiles which can slot straight in. So far we’ve not seen a style or system. It sounds like a criticism of Wilder but the loss of Knill combined with our three best players was always going to make that hard. Now the window is shut any coaching time between now and after the international break I hope would be used developing that style and system. I’d opt for a 4-3-3 where we try and control possession. We shouldn’t be playing long ball with the midfielders we’ve got who are all comfortable in possession. I also think a major positive this season would be giving our young players a lot of game time. The likes of Seriki, Peck, Arblaster and Oné are our biggest assets. If they do well and one or two go for a good fee next summer, hopefully we can invest that into five or six players to build a much more competitive and balanced squad.  On the recruitment side, I think it’s understandable Wilder has gone back for BBD, Hamza, Phillips as well as experience with Doherty and Kitching. A lack of budget means we have to get it right and a group of players who are decent at the level but also bring a lot behind the scenes was the safest and probably best option we could’ve gone with this year. However, next summer we need to broaden our recruitment. Wilder mentioned we looked abroad and I hope we do that more. Focus any fees on U24 players who can develop and sell for more in the future while only signing proven experience on loan or for free.  I’ve got no doubt Wilder will fix it, but from now we need to stop looking short term and start looking at the medium/long term future of the club. Building a system and good approach to recruitment. We need to take inspiration from clubs like Norwich who have sold good players every season and used that money to sign multiple good ones⚔️ #sufc #twitterblades

Back Wilder and the lads who are here. Regardless of the performance it shows real character to come back twice and score a late winner. We needed to replace O’Hare and haven’t but we will get better when Chong, Oné, Seriki and Burrows to give us more depth ⚔️

Much much better going forward today. Gaps defensively but what a performance from Cooper. Donovan is some talent⚔️

Really happy with this signing. Brings balance to the defence and a lot of experience. However, gutted to lose O’Hare. Will miss his work out of possession and need to replace him before the window closes.

We need another winger if O’Hare goes or not, especially with injuries to Oné and Chong. If O’Hare does go we should go for Cleary and a loan number 10

Solid cover at RB while Seriki is injured and brings more experience. Hopefully we keep O’Hare and add a CB + a creative player on loan

Very happy with this. Play him on the left and he’ll score. Would love us to try and get a creative LW on loan as competition ⚔️

Really really good article. Definitely give this a read⚔️

Seems like this could be a back 3 with McCallum at LCB. Wonder if it’ll be a flat midfield 3 or Blaster and O’Hare as two 10s

I think we should look to push Burrows into LW to compete with Oné and sign a back up LB and CB on loan. Would allow us to push one of, if not our best creators further forward and he can finish. I also think he’s got the awareness to get into smart attacking positions without having to take on his man. If no one is bidding for Amass on a permanent he could be a great option on loan to compete with McCallum #sufc #twitterblades

Need to play more through the midfielders who are technical enough to control a game. Hopefully Oné/Campbell start next game. Last 11 opening league games we’ve lost 7 so a draw seems like a good result for us. Onto Swansea⚔️

My lineup for today. Really want to see Oné start so we can push O’Hare more central. Hopefully Chong and Baptiste are available to start. 2-0 Blades ⚔️

This would be incredible⚔️

Good news and nice to see us tying down a player to a new deal. Let’s hope the work on the training ground gets him firing again because he was huge for us in his first season

What a player he’s been for us. Gutted to see him go but hope he smashes it in the Prem⚔️

I’m not sure we needed another CM and his recent injuries are a major worry. But if it’s a good deal for us and he plays we’ve got one of the best in the division. Really hope it works out for him because he deserves to get back playing⚔️
