The number of drone applications is about to explode, many literally
I turned my DJI Mavic into a home security drone with REA & Opus 5.5. this f*cking is insane.. I reverse-engineered my DJI drone with Opus 5.5 no cloud. no GPS on the target. it all runs on the phone. iPhone or Android. here's the build step by step: step 1 → plug a spare phone into the Mavic remote and paste the prompt below into Claude Code on Opus 5.5 step 2 → Opus checks your drone against the DJI Mobile SDK v5 list. not on it? stop there. no firmware hacks step 3 → it builds a small app on the official DJI SDK: Swift for iPhone, Kotlin for Android step 4 → sync with the alarm: Home Assistant sees it trigger → push to your phone → one tap "Launch" step 5 → eyes: a tiny YOLO model on the phone's chip. Core ML on iPhone, LiteRT on Android step 6 → memory: a Kalman filter. he runs behind a fence → LOCKED → COASTING → re-locks on the same ID step 7 → hands: Virtual Stick at 10 Hz. box center → yaw, box size → distance, never closer than 8 m step 8 → at the property line it stops, climbs to 30 m and keeps the camera on him until he's out of sight step 9 → lands back on the pad. the clip with track, distance and timestamps is already on your phone the alarm wakes you up. the drone already knows where he went... Find full prompt below Then, read the article below on how to reverse-engineer anything with Opus 5.5.

DJI is mass rolling out 1280 x 1024 thermal imaging for its Mavic-sized drones while American 640 x 480 imagers are on 6+ mo lead times This should be a MASSIVE wake up call to the Western industrial base, fire alarms should be ringing.

Just to clarify to the copium in the comments. Yes, 1280 NATIVE resolution. Super-resolution processing can produce even higher to 2560 × 2048 output.

Apollo should never represent the upper limit of what @NASA can achieve. It should be a standard we continuously strive to exceed. We’re bringing that intensity, discipline, and engineering ownership back to this agency. Great nations do not remain great by being caretakers of history, but by continuously making history.

Yes, I sell drones. Yes, they're built in El Segundo. I take bank wire, credit card, and bitcoin.

Can America build its own DJI? 🇺🇸 I asked @JHL_Express, CEO of @FlybyRobotics, at LA Tech Week. His take: policy has to push buyers off DJI, and US companies must match DJI, then beat it. He's building American-made drones in El Segundo with parts from the US and its allies.

Grateful for everyone who came out to @FlybyRobotics LA Tech Week Factory Field Day event. It’s joyful for me that people get to experience our custom Gemma 2 running entirely on board for the first time. Thank you for everyone who came out. It’s time to build in America

The future I think will be full of thousands of robots like this one, all over our cities, enabling preventative maintenance and safeguarding infrastructure
We demonstrated this defect (read rust) detection AI recently, trained on a small data set. I'm excited to feed more data into the model.

I knew Satya Nadella long before he became Microsoft CEO. He was my boss after Microsoft bought my startup in 1998. In the debut of my podcast, "Confession," Satya shares lessons about empathy, courage, and taking on risk as a leader. And I make a confession of my own. Enjoy!
🎙️ Watch now: debut podcast available on all platforms. Episode 1. Satya Nadella on “Confession with Ali Partovi” – The interview question he still thinks about decades later –"We won the browser war, only to lose the web" – His son Zain and how his empathy journey began … and much more with Microsoft CEO @satyanadella. Average day users in the robotics industry like to dismiss these concerns until incidents like this shows the old mantra again and again If it’s too cheap to be true, you are the product.
NEW: 🇳🇴 Chinese-owned rental cars used by the Norwegian Armed Forces reportedly recorded soldiers, their movements and security codes during a major military exercise in Oslo, raising serious questions about the security of vehicles used in sensitive military operations. The incident occurred during Operation Hovedstad, held from September 14 to 18, when Norway’s Home Guard District 02 trained for security operations, including scenarios involving the defence of Oslo Airport during wartime. The Armed Forces had rented the cars through Hertz Norway under a nationwide rental agreement signed in 2024, worth up to 350 million Norwegian kroner and running until May 2028. Hertz Norway’s ownership chain ultimately leads to China’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, which also owns Volvo Cars. The agreement provides rental vehicles for exercises, operational activities and everyday military use. During the exercise, soldiers discovered that the cars had recorded and stored video footage. Lieutenant Fredrik Blanck told Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv (DN) that the recordings showed who entered and exited the vehicles, where they travelled, whom they picked up and how long they remained at different locations. More concerningly, the footage reportedly captured security codes entered by soldiers when opening military gates. Some access points require both a key card and a code, meaning the recordings could expose sensitive access procedures. The vehicles remained in use throughout the exercise because alternative transport was in limited supply.

Today, the @DeptofWar's Office of Strategic Capital announced a $1.5 billion conditional loan commitment to Wolfspeed to help strengthen the U.S. supply chain for silicon carbide (SiC), gallium nitride (GaN), and other wide bandgap semiconductor materials. Combined with private capital, the proposed financing would support domestic production of critical materials and power devices with applications across defense, Super Intelligence, critical infrastructure, and other strategically important sectors. These technologies are essential to high-performance propulsion, directed energy weapons, drones, electronic warfare systems, radars, and missile defense systems. The financing would also advance U.S. economic security as SiC and GaN are expected to play an increasingly important role in the SI revolution. war.gov/News/Releases/Releas…
