🚨Rebuttal: #Turkey based broadcaster @TRTWorld has published an article titled “Modi’s Friday sermon: The language of “OPPRESSION” in #Kashmir” written by Ahmed bin Qasim portraying the recent J&K Waqf Board Sermon controversy as “#Modi controlling Islam.” Who is Ahmed Bin Qasim? Why has TRT World given him a platform? Is there any Pakistan connection? Let’s take a closer look ⬇️

The summit's composition, affiliations and presentation raise serious questions: - Separatist organisations involved in organising the event. - Pakistani diplomatic representation among its prominent participants. - Decades old footage presented without clarification. (11/12)

- Judicially convicted portrayed without explaining the cases and findings behind their convictions. Yet, @trtworld amplified the event's narrative without adequately examining these crucial details. #JKCDC | Debunking Disinformation- Establishing Facts. #Kashmir (12/12)

- @CrisisGroup’s new report on Jammu & #Kashmir is being read in headlines as a one-sided attack on India. Read the full 30 pages and it's more nuanced. A thread on what it actually says 🧵 The report concedes India's security gains. Terror attacks are down, active militant numbers are down and violent street protests have "almost vanished", Stone-pelting is now rare. (1/5)

On democracy, it notes two elections held after 2019 with turnout of 58% and 63%, with even separatists backing the vote. Kashmir's long history of boycotts and 3% turnout is behind it. Some media are quoting only the criticisms (heavy-handed laws, the LG's powers) and leaving out the concessions above. Selective quoting turns a mixed assessment into a headline of "India failed". Its recommendations are not hostile to India's interests. It backs restoring statehood, which PM Modi has himself promised and a quiet NSA-level back channel. It explicitly says engagement should not mean conceding India's position on Kashmir. Read the whole report, not the headlines. It's critical of some Indian policies, but it also credits India's gains and puts real pressure on Pakistan. (5/5)

Exposing Pakistan’s “27 October Kashmir Black Day” Propaganda🚨 Pakistan’s disinformation campaign on #Kashmir has long been the core of its foreign policy. A prime example is the fake narrative of “27 October – Kashmir Black Day.” What really happened on 27 October 1947? 🧵

While Pakistan continues to observe 27 October as “Kashmir Black Day,” the people of Kashmir are busy living their normal, peaceful lives - going to work, to schools, to markets. There is no Black Day, No protests, No Shutdown, No heed to Pakistan’s propaganda. (7/8)
