I keep seeing “tech is saturated and there is no work”, why would someone still learn tech since the TSacademy thing has been flying around this week. This is also how few Nigerians I met when when I moved to the UK told me that tech is saturated and that I should venture into Care work, Security, Construction that many Nigerians are doing at the time. I am not putting down those jobs and will never do that but I am really glad I didn’t listen to all those people. They even went as far as telling me I can never get a Tech job in London unless I move and work outside of London when they see I started learning tech anyway. Yes it was really a big challenge for me, but I landed my first tech job in one of the big bank worldHQ in Canary Wharf. Many of the same people then started asking me how they could also start their tech journey. If you like, continue to join in on rubbish talk on X and don’t start learning skills for yourself and your future. I also share free resources here and also encourage people to learn skills on their own but I also do understand that not everyone can do self-paced learning. If you can learn anything on your own, learn it then try and connect with likeminded people after or if you are unable to learn on your own, find an academy to pay and learn it and also network with the people you meet there. Most times after learning with people, you will often get jobs by referral from the people you learned together with. Not everyone will make it in this life anyway, so the choice is yours.
