Superb mustread by @freedland on the madness not just of climate denial, but of media distraction from it, even as we all swelter in this unprecedented heatwave, now firmly attributed by scientists to global heating.

It feels deeply ironic to be posting about climate scepticism when today we may well break the temperature record for June AGAIN!! But here is my response to Ian Paul's recent blog post, "Should the Church be saving the planet, or saving people?"
Climate change science has been established for decades, and we are now seeing the impacts. As Ian Paul's recent blog demonstrates scepticism persists in society. @MartinHodson1 challenges this and finds encouragement in the rise of renewables. jri.org.uk/climate-change-ta…

We are in the Age of Humans - the Anthropocene.
Our new article (open access) shows how even with a moderate future emissions scenario, global temperature will still be elevated by 3-4°C in the year 3000!

Christianity .... and climate change?
I recently sat down with former NBC climate reporter @ChaseCainNBC to talk about how faith—specifically Christianity—intersects with climate change.
This is a conversation I've been wanting to have for a long time; and I didn't hold back!
We discussed how many use their faith as an excuse to reject what science tells us about how the planet is warming, humans are responsible and the impacts are serious.
But even more importantly, we talked about responsibility, hope, and what it really means to love the world and each other, if we truly believe that God has given us the ability to act, with love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
This isn't an easy topic to engage with, but it’s one I think matters more and more.
If you’re interested, check it out - and don't forget to share 💚
