Absolutely hilarious. Why would an NFL team trade a first for a dude with a degenerative knee? wtf were they thinking
There’s now long-term concerns being raised about AJ Brown’s knee, and how effective he’ll be for the Patriots moving forward, per @AdamSchefter.
New England traded a 2028 1st to the Eagles for Brown this past offseason.
The Rams backed out of a trade for Brown due to his knee.

It’s exactly what Calvin said.
Cheap owners!
Joe Montana asked to play with Barry Sanders in Detroit. The Lions told him no.
He had four Super Bowl rings. And he called the Lions coach himself.
The front office turned him down in two words.
In the video below, Barry repeats exactly what they said.
It was 1993. Montana was leaving San Francisco and wanted one more shot with the best runner in football.
Wayne Fontes took it upstairs. He came back with the answer and had to tell Montana no.
Montana went to Kansas City instead. That same season, he took the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game.
The best quarterback of his generation and the best runner alive could have shared a backfield. Detroit passed over a birth certificate.
On today’s market, Montana’s deal would be worth about $45 million a year. Barry’s, about $42 million. Detroit could have had both. What they really made is in the article below.

Calvin "Megatron" Johnson says Detroit had the talent but "you can’t win a Super Bowl on a budget," and Stafford winning one immediately after leaving proved his point
"But the thing I always say, man, I'm not salty about it at all, 'cause I retired like four years before, a couple years before Stafford left Detroit."
"The biggest thing for me is that, I used to always say, we tell everybody we got the team here in Detroit. We had the dudes, but you can’t win a Super Bowl on a budget, man. You got to go all in."
"That's what you see teams do. They go all in and get that one piece or two pieces that they're missing, to get them all the way there over the last couple seasons."
"We had most of the pieces there in Detroit. And so for me, when he won Super Bowl, literally the first year after he left Detroit, I'm out there like, 'I mean, I told y’all what we had.'"

Trade: The #Ravens are finalizing a trade for former #AZCardinals QB Jacoby Brissett, per me and @AdamSchefter, filling the void left by the injuries to Lamar Jackson and Tyler “Snoop” Huntley.
The deal is expected to be completed this weekend.
We love you Jack.
STATEMENT FROM JACK CAMPBELL
My family and I want to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers, and support we’ve received over the past few days. It means more to us than words can express.
I’m incredibly encouraged by the progress I’ve made in such a short period of time. I have full movement in my lower body, and I’m continuing to make progress with movement in my upper body. I know there’s still work ahead, but I remain very optimistic. I’m taking things one day at a time, staying positive, and focusing on getting better.
My faith in God has never been stronger. I know He has a plan for me, and I trust in that plan. I know there may be challenges ahead, but with my faith, my family, and so many people in my corner, I know we’ll get through this.
I especially want to thank the athletic trainers and medical personnel who responded and cared for me on the field. I know those were difficult moments, and I’m incredibly grateful for the professionalism, compassion, and care you showed me. The way you handled everything and looked after me when I needed it most is something I’ll never forget. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I also can’t say enough about the incredible care I’ve received from the medical team at Henry Ford Hospital and the Detroit Lions medical staff. They’ve been amazing to me and my family throughout this process, and I’m truly grateful for everything they’ve done.
To my teammates, coaches, and everyone in the Lions organization, I want you to know how much I love and appreciate you. This team is a family to me, and the way everyone has been there for me means everything. I’m proud to be a Detroit Lion and couldn’t ask to be surrounded by a better group of people.
One thing I’ve learned about Detroit is that this city is built on toughness, resilience, and grit. That’s exactly how I’m going to approach this challenge.
Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers. We feel the love, and I can’t thank everyone enough.
God is good. My faith is strong.

My bet is Aiyuk is coming back and will force a trade to a good team. He got a new agent and then decides to come back the week of the deadline.
I’d be surprised if he was a 49er for his next game.

Advice to those interested in Head Football Coaching jobs:
- The last coach probably wasn't as dumb as you think
- Be self-aware
- It's an honor to be considered
- Fit & timing are everything
Good luck to everyone trying to get promoted this coming offseason!
No surprise
I called the agent of a veteran coach to see if Jerry Jones had even picked up the phone and poked around on him during the Schottenheimer hiring cycle and he laughed and said “Jerry won’t pay 13M and up and that’s the starting point”
It’s well known and well documented just surprised he actually finally said it on record today.
