The U.S. has one of the least revolutionary populations in the world with a huge chunk of the country openly hostile to socialism. If you don’t want to accept social democrats or even disaffected liberals in the DSA tent that’s fine but the organization will have a hard ceiling.

Banning the term “ai” to replace it with “superintelligence” due to the “inaccuracy of the name AI” is fucking hysterical AI is not a reliable tool and is hardly super intelligent.
BREAKING: President Trump says he is banning the terms “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI.”

Hearing people complain about “luxury condos” is so irritating 1. Because the rich need places to live too, if they don’t have nice condos downtown they buy up land and homes in the suburbs and take space from families 2. Developers will market *anything* as luxury to sell it

Also the affordable working person units of today are yesterdays luxury or luxury equivalent housing. We need turnover on homes and we need new homes in our cities. Our cities cannot stay the same size forever.

More homes means more homes for all. Americas cities need more housing of all types.

The Utah Democrats are hoping to expand their caucus out of Salt Lake County by flipping #HD59, which combines Wasatch County with the liberal resort town of Park City. It backed Trump by 11, but the Dems have a great candidate and no GOP incumbent running. SLEW RATING: Lean R

Flávio is not welcome here, deport him back to Brazil so he can face justice just like his father did and is doing now

The best way to build political power in this country is to kneecap the more progressive candidates right before the election. Genius move here.
The DSA National Political Committee has voted to unendorse and expel Nithya Raman She has until October 31 to express clear direct support for BDS to retain endorsement, and until January 1 to condemn weapon shipments for Israel out of LAX to remain a member of DSA Both resolutions are linked below

Utah, Alabama, and West Virginia all have a more pro-trans Medicaid policy than what Turek is advocating for. Those are all *significantly* redder than Iowa. He does not need to do this to win.
It really pisses me off when lefties say “but Beshear was pro-trans and won Kentucky!!1!1” Watch the actual fucking ad. He is compassionate, yes, but has made the exact same policy concessions as candidates like Turek, Sand, or Talarico.

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. helenwebberley.com/news/tran…

It’s notable that Turek polling well behind Sand gets much less attention from the chattering class than AES polling behind Benson
New: Iowa Democrat Josh Turek is running a radical Senate campaign ... to the center - Opposes impeachment - Supports Laken Riley Act - Criticizes Dems for blocking Husted data center bill and farm bill - Ticks off all the ways he can work with Trump “Politically, the term moderate can be pejorative. And I say that I’m proudly a moderate," he says in an interview. His opponent, Rep. Ashley Hinson, says Turek is "going to be voting with Chuck Schumer 100% of the time." But she too is running toward the center, distancing herself from Trump on Iran, Russia and Vivek ad Turek: Hinson’s “masquerading. I mean that’s a problem for me. I’m genuinely a bipartisan person,” he added. “She has been partisan. … Just be who you are.” On the throwback race in Iowa, where “They expect us to represent Iowa interests and not just the interests of whoever’s president of the United States," according to Chuck Grassley --> semafor.com/article/10/25/20…

Gentrification is caused by lack of development. If you place a limit on new housing, then you have a fixed population which will get replaced by newcomers. You have to build to accommodate population growth

#KansasSenate Adam Hamilton on transgender rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself.” “I’m gonna love the trans person as well as the straight person, male or female. We have to do better than picking on small groups. What’s happened is we’ve turned a group of people into a campaign issue because it polls well.”

So why hasn’t your party been doing that kind of “bold thinking” to save the lake while it’s been hitting critical levels over the past DECADE? You have had the supermajority. It’s because there is no profit to be made in saving the lake, and that’s all the GOP is about. Profit.
Our pioneer ancestors didn’t let seemingly impossible challenges stand in their way. They found innovative ways to move water in the desert and build thriving communities. Saving the Great Salt Lake will require that same kind of bold thinking.

The Utah Democrats want to save the lake, we know how to save it. We must change agricultural practice in our state to be more water efficient, and to be more economically efficient. We lose our snow, our air, and our beautiful land if this lake dies. We understand the urgency.
