Crooked Con was libbing out and loving @CaptMarkKelly
For anyone who has been looking at these maps for the last decade, this is shocking
Not a mistake.
@CharleneforAZ @priya4az @Oscarforaz @A_DLCC ran candidates in every district which meant there were surfboards ready to ride the tsunami not just to a trifecta, but likely a supermajority in the State Senate.
Trump just wants to open up the South for Dems to win more Senate seats
NEW: Republican sources in Tennessee tell me President Trump is “encouraging” Governor-elect Marsha Blackburn to appoint Pete Hegseth to her U.S. Senate seat.
Blackburn could resign imminently.
That would let outgoing Governor Bill Lee name Hegseth quickly and give Trump time to get a new Pentagon chief confirmed during the lame-duck session.

Take it from someone who won back-to-back campaigns in a battleground state:
“It’s about addressing issues that people care about,”@CaptMarkKelly said. “If you can’t feed your kids, you don’t care about a lot of other things.”

Lives lost, billions spent for what? Leadership includes the ability to speak truth to power and fight for what’s right, and not just when it’s easy. That quality isn’t one possessed by you or anyone in this administration, and that’s why you continue to fail the American people.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up.
So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us."
Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026.
There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true.
But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone.
Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were:
1) End the war
2) Focus on cost of living/inflation
3) Put America First
4) Change our relationship to Israel
Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.)
In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you.
The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.
If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest.
But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there.
I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

We have to go back to the election of 1948 to the last time Democrats held both US Senate seats, Gov, SoS, AG, SPI, Treasurer and Mine Inspector.
Candidate and campaign quality matters.
BACKSTORY - How Annie Andrews shocked the world in SC
- After Graham won primary, Andrews spent $5M+ on ads when she basically had airwaves to herself. By October her campaign had a 3-point lead and never trailed but didn't release the poll
- Trump's Graham endorsement backfired. Mark Sanford: “A Waterloo moment for Trump ... this is a person who said: ‘Close your eyes and pretend you’re voting for me.’ OK, they did ... They just didn’t like Darline as a candidate and felt it had been forced down their throats by Trump"
- Andrews made big inroads with Rs by courting supporters of Ralph Norman, getting Beasley endorsement. She worked closely with Clyburn to help juice turnout and other than Warnock kept the campaign local
- This all led to a convincing win and ... coat tails. Dems picked up the Lowcountry House seat. Andrews ran ahead of Dem guv candidate; and Graham ran way behind

This year, Gabby spent 174 days on the road over 70 trips to 40 cities in every part of the country. That would be a grueling schedule even for someone who didn't have her injuries. She saw last night as a possibility and did everything she could.
No one works harder.
I got to spend a lot of time with @cbhines586 during her campaign, meeting with voters across Macomb County. I saw her love for her community and her commitment to building the safer future we all deserve.
Her constituents will be lucky to have her in their corner. Congratulations, Christina, on this big win.

From August ⬇️ Over 1,000 Kansans came out to see @CaptMarkKelly as he campaigned for Adam Hamilton and Kansas Democrats up and down the ballot
Sometimes politics is chess. And a lot of the time it’s just checkers!
This is quantifiable. Trump slipped after Liberation day to about 40, where he stabilized for about a year until the strikes. The decline also tracked with thermostatic reaction to immigration enforcement. He then plummeted to 33 percent by August of this year.
CPI was 2.4 percent in February and up 3.8 percent in April. August headline CPI was 3.4 percent against core at 2.4 with energy accounting for most of the gap.
Republicans’ approval of the economy was at 79 percent in February, but dropped to 64 percent by May. Tariff opinion has been stable since April 2025. The late drop was the war. 74 percent of voters in exits said the war was a major or crucial factor in their vote.
Mark Kelly didn’t just go to Maine — he stood on @mainebeerbrewer’s bar counter and made the case for @TroyJackson207 to be Maine’s next Senator. Let’s go!
