Good quick insights on the job market
software dev job postings: up 21% from a year ago. all jobs: up 3%. still 22% below feb 2020 though. tech is thawing. it's not 2021. set alerts, apply early, message the hiring manager. i break these numbers down weekly: taylor.sites.tab.bot/?utm_so…

I'm trying to love Cursor projects, but it just doesn't work the way my brain works. Here's why 🧵

Reason #3: This is the only UI for the sub-agents. I feel like there should be a "I need you" or "you haven't looked at me" UI. I'm essentially thinking of the agents as "sub-projects" and they just don't feel that way in this UI.

That's it for now, I might come back and add to this. @cursor_ai it's not you, it's me. But in case you care 👆

Reason #1: All responses come in the main thread. Give me a Slack-styled threads so I'm not reading responses from 3 agents in one place!

Reason #2: It's implicit where each thing is running. Give me a branch/worktree label on each Agent in the UI. I think this is because I'm not using Cloud Agents, and it's designed for that.

The fact Apple doesn't have ANY chat-based personal assistant on Mac OS is such a tragedy. How is that even possible?

sending a shedload of (not spam, double opt-in) email is still v challenging but @jessethanley has taken some of the hardest bits and packaged it as a kickass service called @PostShiba huge unlock for builders

I got to teach a room full of people IRL about @eve at #allthingsopen yesterday! It was great to see so many people exploring OSS and AI together. Many great convos were had. Kudos to the everyone who made it all possible 📷 Thank you @RoxanaCodes for taking a picture for me

I was describing the PHP debacle to my wife and all she had to say is "wow, that sounds PH negative" and then smirked

I'm available for your UI dev needs, if your agent still isn't quite cutting it 🙈
was considering trying a dot for something but literally isn't in the sidebar 😂 UI is hard even for people with unlimited AI budget

Full details of a remotely exploitable vulnerability in the core engine of *all* PHP versions will be released tomorrow, October 21st. If your organization has internet facing PHP applications then you need to be ready to patch the minute the update is released or *strongly* consider taking the application offline until you can: php.net/index.php#2026-10-20…
🚨 PHP warns of two critical vulnerabilities as emergency patches arrive tomorrow The PHP security team will release updates on October 21 at 14:00 UTC for two vulnerabilities, each rated 9.2 under CVSS v4.0. ⠀ Security researchers identified the flaws as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 and described them as remote code execution vulnerabilities reportedly affecting PHP versions 5 through 8. PHP has not yet confirmed the affected versions, exploitation requirements or fixed releases. ⠀ The vulnerabilities were reportedly leaked before their planned disclosure. Researchers said they have not observed active exploitation, while PHP warned it may release the patches early if technical details become public or exploitation is detected. ⠀ Administrators should identify PHP installations now and prepare to apply the updates as soon as they become available.

Is this true?
I do love how tech used to be synonymous with cushy, high paying jobs. Now it is beginning to be synonymous with 80+ hr work weeks. What a rebrand

The Laravel team continues to do insanely cool things, as a matter of routine 🫡
3 days, 200+ load tests and a 60-page writeup that follows every request from the edge down to the line of code that serves it. That’s how we do SRE at @laravel
