In the minds of ET lefties where every election plays out like this year, KLB definitely couldn't lose, but at the time she was nominated and for a long time afterward, there was very real fear she could do so among the rest of the Democrats. – at Douglasville, GA
This was always the real danger of running Bottoms, not that she would lose (she couldn’t) but rather her weak fundraising & strong North Atlanta unpopularity would divert resources away from downballot & US Houses races to her and limit our gains which is exactly what happened

I can’t imagine spending $500M on a campaign and letting this clip remain unseen until *after* the election.

In the 2026 midterms, 547 state executive or legislative branch seats changed parties. Just 13 state legislative seats flipped D>R. Pennsylvania and Georgia were the only states where the GOP flipped more than 1, at 2 each. 1 in both houses in PA. 2 in the GA state house. – at Douglasville, GA

By sentencing, this crime is a bit less than 3 times as bad as watching facesitting porn. That's so cool.
Andreas Christopheros opened his front door and a stranger threw a beaker of sulphuric acid in his face. The acid was so strong his shirt dissolved off his body and it burned through the floor of his hallway. His wife burned her own feet trying to drag him to the shower. The man had driven 300 miles for revenge and knocked on the wrong door. Andreas lost an eye and his eyelids. He would later say he'd rather have been shot. December 2014, a quiet street in Cornwall. Andreas was working from home, building a new business. A normal day before Christmas. From his office window he noticed a red van. A few minutes later, someone knocked. In the video below he tells it himself. He opened the door like anyone would. In one motion the man said "this is for you, mate" and the acid hit him. He didn't even have time to blink. His wife ran downstairs and found him screaming. Police later caught the attacker. He had gone to the wrong address. Andreas was never the target. He went through endless skin grafts. He wore a pressure mask on his face every day. His business folded. His son was 2. He says he refuses to be defined by it. How do you forgive someone who destroyed your face by mistake?

Are DeSantis fans really reducing themselves to touting states thay gave him 3% of the vote in the primaries? – at Douglasville, GA

Reuben should stick to discussing Florida developments. 2004 is not coming back, but NC and GA are both still swing states for the time being. Otherwise, you can add Texas to their list, and Florida would be no given for the GOP either. – at Douglasville, GA
The George Allen moment finally came and this is just future of NC/GA. Maybe good for 1 dead cat bounce during a D Prez midterm but…lights out till next big coalition shakeup Growth + high edu workforce can only end w/…the high edu party dominant

The communities in Heard County, Georgia, fit a few of these: Franklin (county seat) Ephesus Corinth Glenn Texas Centralhatchee The last one has nothing to do with its relative location and is an approximation of the Indian name for Centralhatchee Creek. – at Druid Hills, GA
Replying to @Jake_W
I’ve always rather liked the American habit of town names that in the same county can include - an English shire county, a city in Germany, the name of a Founding Father, an untranslatable and probably mistranslated Indian name, and a Classical/Biblical Era settlement

I agree with expanding the House, but 1000 would ludicrous and unwieldy. – at Druid Hills, GA
Basic congressional reforms that would improve DC, but everyone will hate even though I'm right: (1) Expand the House of Representatives to 1000 to 2000 members. (2) Pay them at least $300,000. (3) Get rid of the cap on campaign and party donations.
