sociopathic founders got us in this mess and by god sociopathic founders will get us out
The thing you don’t realize about social media: you’re posting to keep people on the platform. You are ranked by how well you are at attracting people. You’re a variable in an acquisition and retention loop. You are ranked highly for keeping people here. You occupy shelf space.
The human is the ultimate loss function.
It knows exactly how wrong everything is until it stops being wrong.
Not sure that at this time in history that we realize how lucky we are to have a never ending supply of food that actually taste good.
Building an AI harness? Keep two kinds of eval.
1. A capability eval asks “can it do this yet?”
2. A regression eval asks “did we break it?”
I met someone tell me they get all their news from Reddit. Are people just openly not ashamed of that fact?
Saying AI will make engineers obsolete because everyone can build now is like saying home kitchens will make restaurants obsolete because everyone can cook now.
The differentiator is and always will be taste.
“I looked in your cup to see if you had enough. You looked in my cup to see if I had more than you.”
Making an AI video still takes a lot of patience, even with a good script.

I thought I'd be able to drop in a prompt and get magic. Although I created this by myself, in one evening, it was far from easy. AI is able to amplify every action I could have taken before, giving me the powers of a team of experts. But like any random team of experts, they don't spontaneously create magic just from coming into close proximity from each other.
It takes a Taste Manager, or Taste Director to push through the several iterations it takes to get to a final product, and even then - there is still always room to improve.
Here is the result of one night's vision and a team of virtual experts:
Anthropic's watermarking works by replacing the normally probable word choice with an alternative probable word.
This can be seen in one of my form designs when instead of "Required" it chose the word "Needed". It means the same thing, it's just not the most probable choice.
There is no training data on earth that suggests needed is the standard word to put on a data form.
Hence, I chalk this up to an example of watermarking.
I'd recommend sweeping your UIs for "non-standard" language and phrasing. You'll undo any watermarking that may have impacted those word choices, and have a UI that seems less vibe copywriten.
My stance on watermarking is that it isn't harmless, it's a bastardization of language and will gradually adjust the corpus of written word and throw off the zipf curve @tweetsauce
