DID YOU KNOW?
Jamaica first observed National Heroes' Day on October 20, 1969, establishing an annual occasion to honour the individuals whose sacrifices and contributions helped shape our nation's struggles for freedom, justice, equality and national development.
As we celebrate their achievements, we also celebrate every reader who made this season one to remember.

The 38th staging of our National Reading Competition culminated in a memorable Awards Ceremony, where five National Champions were crowned.
From parish libraries to the national stage, these readers demonstrated the power of dedication, determination and a love for reading.
With over 300 students from 36 schools across 6 parishes reached, the initiative was a powerful reminder of what can happen when youth are given adequate opportunities.
