Soros: At some point every bubble will experience the big *test*, where the reflexive feedback loop flips from positive to negative. During the test, the market will try to take out the highly leveraged bulls. You do not want to own the asset during the test. But if the market fails to push down prices enough to clear out all the bulls, then you have the greenlight to jump back in with even more size than before the test. The failure to clear out the bulls proves the broader trend is incredibility resilient. After the test, the next phase of the bubble is the acceleration phase where it extends much higher and much longer than anyone expects. In today's case with AI, perhaps if the market was to learn over the next few weeks/months that AI is resilient to the political cycle, then we could enter the acceleration phase?

Everyone saying “Oh Jensen got got. Jensen fell for the honeypot” Ever consider he knew the whole time? That actually HE was honeydicking China and feeding them false intel? It’s a new Cold War. There’s levels to this. Don’t jump to conclusions. Don’t rule out a honeydick

For anyone discussing today’s low volume (It was actually average), markets melt up on low volume & bottom on high volume. Enjoy the incoming ‘most hated rally’ ever, followed by a massive releveraging event in Q1 (Because funds have beaten down puppy syndrome and are afraid to add risk so they’ll wait a quarter).

I don't think compute is a commodity. The calorific value of gasoline or diesel is fixed. Meanwhile, tokens generated per watt depend on so many factors (networking, PUE, the type of chip, inference framework, etc.) Different vendors can get vastly different tokens per watt even on the same hardware for a particular model (DeepSeek's infra efficiency). Microsoft could shift its workloads from A100s to newer hardware for multiple reasons (a new model that runs much more efficiently on Blackwell or Hopper).

In shortages you secure what you can and in balanced market you take your chances with Spot and your own capacity. Oil suppliers do this all the time. Its commodities 101. One thing they don’t do is project oil as $100 forever. Which is what all the compute suppliers are doing.

If you lost a bunch of money the past few months, and are panicking, stop. You’re admitting to yourself subconsciously that you don’t believe you can learn from this and make it back. Shift your focus into productive thoughts. Peace be with you all.

I have a loosely held theory that if the Democrats really do press on this anti-ai narrative, that Mark Carney would say we’re open for business

In Budget 2026, we’re cutting Canada’s marginal effective tax rate on new business investment from 13% to 6.4% — the lowest of any major economy in the world. That means businesses, large and small, can deduct the full cost of most new investments. Making Canada the best place in the world to build.
