Culture War explores the thirty year siege of unionism, and the fightback which has begun.
Part 1 of the book over eight chapters analyses the constitutionally corrosive impact of the Belfast Agreement, the Irish Sea border and nationalism’s relentless targeting of unionist/loyalist culture from Drumcree (which is the focus of an entire chapter as a case study on parading) to the more recent attack on the flying of Union flags and bonfires. It further devotes a chapter to illuminating the political agenda behind nationalism’s divisive Irish Language campaign.
There is a detailed chapter contribution by Ulster University academic Dr Cillian McGrattan (writing in a personal capacity) who, using legacy as a case study, presents a clinical evidence-based exposure of the ‘greening’ of academia and how a small cohort of nationalists have managed to completely control academic output and skew it to suit nationalism’s political agenda.
The book also looks at the structural bias within much of the professional class- in particular within media and the legal profession-and how this has been influenced by a strategic nationalist insurgency to ‘green’ important opinion-forming institutions.
Importantly, Part 2 of the book in three chapters provides the tools for fighting back, explaining the basic outline of Human Rights law and Judicial Review, and how this can be used to defend and advance unionist/loyalist rights.
Culture War is also now available in a number of local shops, and can be purchased in both paperback and hardback directly via Amazon which is the easiest place to order:

TRIBUTE: Eric ‘the Doc’ Halliday
Today, we lost one of the greatest there ever was. At 86 years of age Eric ‘Doc’ Halliday has left us.
It was the most unlikely of friendship, but one of the most special. He was my football mentor, my friend, an advisor and an old man who knew more, won more and achieved more than any of us ever will in two lifetimes.
He was perhaps the most successful local football manager ever. He won it all. Seen it all. But, as an act of friendship, a man of that stature came to be my ‘assistant’ for two seasons. That shows you the humility of the man. But he was no assistant. He knew the respect and awe he was held in by us all. When he spoke, we all listened. Because when he spoke, he had something to say. He didn’t waste words. And you daren’t waste words to him.
We had some amazing times with that team. He used to say to me “this other team think they just have to turn up, but we are going to spring a wee surprise kid”.
And the first trophy I ever won, he just in a quiet and understated way nudged me in the technical box and said “you’re gonna win your first trophy kid, don’t make it the last, and winked”.
At the end of the first season we spent, another club tried to lure him away. He was offered a lot of money. Even at his age, by then late in his 70s, he was a priceless commodity in football.
He thought about it for a day or so (Doc was always thinking), then rang me and said “what’s money to me kid, can’t take it with you. See you at training”. What a man.
That’s not to say we didn’t argue and fight. We did. I put myself on as sub one day, and he stormed off- “managers don’t come on as sub, you are making us a laughing stock”. We laughed about it after. Then he told me he wished I’d played for him. Never quite worked out whether he meant that or not.
All of our team will have countless stories. But that was just one team, think of the dozens and dozens he managed, the hundreds of players he had.
He touched lives everywhere. Once played for him, you were always one of “his” players.
I seen him last Sunday, it was very upsetting but I’m so glad I went. I just gave him a kiss on the head and said “you take care the Doc”, and he didn’t say anything, just give a wee faint smirk. I’ll never forget that.
And I’ll never forget you Doc, and the things you taught me. Even in death; he waited to Saturday, his favourite day.
Eric ‘Doc’ Halliday- you’re the greatest - as it said in your tribute at our club “its glory or nothing the great man he said”.
Farewell my friend ❤️❤️❤️ ⚽️ ⚽️ ⚽️
A “cliff edge” moment because nationalists can’t get everything their own way.
Tonight’s event in Portadown is not a political rally. It is an Orange Order event, and the speakers are from the Portadown District.
This is about supporting the lawful 35, not politics. It’s a chance for all of unionism regardless of background to rally together behind this unifying cause and to hear from the District officers themselves.
All roads lead to loyal Portadown 🇬🇧
The DUP leadership strategy now resolves to “we won’t do anything about O’Neill, in six or seven months vote for us, make us FM, and that’ll show them”.
Put simply, their “profound consequence” is a profound nothing.
They really aren’t getting it. They certainly will get an answer at the ballot box, and if they continue sustaining the lawless chief mobster in office, it won’t be the one they want.
Support growing and spreading all across the country for the lawful 35.
If they thought our community would meekly skulk away & surrender our legal right, they badly misjudged.
This isn’t going away, you know!
Quite a silly outburst from Sammy.
Perhaps he is confusing a principled stand, with his resignation from being chief whip over the Irish Sea border in a blaze of glory… only to be back a few weeks later taking the whip…!
You’d be forgiven for thinking this isn’t the most overplatformed supremacist on the BBC.
They have all completely misread it. They believed loyal Portadown stood alone.
Little did they realise not calling people to Portadown was a deliberate choice.
The call has now gone out, and they are all in for a big surprise.
Stand with the lawful 35. Stand with Portadown District LOL No 1. Stand with the human rights defenders.
We will be second class citizens in our own country no more. The days of unionism must give, and nationalism must get are over!
Linfield fans showing their support for loyal Portadown.
The Orangemen deliberately never called supporters to Portadown. Tomorrow night, they’ve put out the call.
All roads lead to Portadown. Come rain, hail or sunshine. Stand with the lawful 35.
Send the nationalist supremacists, the bigots and the human-rights deniers a clear message: we aren’t going away 🇬🇧

Gregory Campbell now on Talkback the DUP position is becoming more and more embarrassing
They are staying in Stormont to punish Michelle O’Neil by wanting the Secetary Of State to change the law to punish ministers if they break the law
Which would not cover Michelle O’Neil
Jamie Bryson retweeted
It does now appear that the changing legal situation around Drumcree is in no small part a result of Bryson's masters dissertation on parading rights and the ECHR.
Whatever you think of Bryson when was the last time a masters dissertation had that level of impact?

Gregory Campbell told @williamcrawley that SF would resign Ministers and that would cause a “collapse”.
This is just wrong. He needs to go and read section 18 (9), (10) and (11) of the 1998 Act.
The DUP are repeating legally illiterate nonsense.
