So far 2023 has seen over 400 lawsuits in the US against websites that have accessibility widgets/overlays. This means 3rd party products like Userway, AccessiBe etc. The claims on the overlay vendors' sites about automated full legal compliance are false. info.usablenet.com/2023-midy…
Lawsuits filed against companies using accessibility widgets are growing. We track if a website uses a widget on the day a lawsuit is filed. Plaintiffs filed 414 lawsuits against websites with active widgets in 2023, compared to 315 suits in 2022 over the same period. I know this is a major issue for others, but can PR and studios that share game codes PLEASE send them before embargoes are up within 48 hours? Not only does it force us to crunch, but as a disabled reviewer, I sometimes can't complete games and then write a review that quickly
