MORE THAN 90 MINUTES ❤️🖤 Before the first whistle, hours of unseen work have already gone into making match day happen. The pitch has been prepared and brushed, the ground and clubhouse set up, facilities checked, equipment organised and countless details taken care of by people working quietly behind the scenes. As Chair of Peacehaven & Telscombe FC, I sometimes wish people could see how much goes into running this football club. A match may last 90 minutes, but behind it are hours of preparation, organisation and commitment from our committee and volunteers. There are also emails, phone calls, league matters, fixtures, registrations, safeguarding, sponsorship, fundraising, bills, suppliers, events and countless problems to solve — often in the evenings and at weekends, alongside jobs, families and personal commitments. Most importantly, these people are volunteers. They give their time because they care about Peacehaven & Telscombe FC and want it to progress, succeed and be here for generations to come. Not every decision will please everyone, and constructive criticism is part of football. But before personally attacking someone, criticising them online or assuming they aren’t doing enough, please stop and think. You may disagree with a decision without knowing the work, pressure and responsibility behind it. There are real people behind this football club. People giving their evenings, weekends and energy to make the club better. They won’t always get everything right — none of us do — but they deserve respect, appreciation and understanding. So when you see the pitch prepared, the clubhouse open, the players ready and everything in place, remember: it didn’t happen by magic. People made it happen. To every committee member and volunteer who gives their time to Peacehaven & Telscombe FC: Thank you. I see what you do, I appreciate it and I know how much you give. Let’s support one another, disagree respectfully when needed and remember that ultimately… We’re all on the same side. 🖤🤍 More than 90 minutes. More than a match. More than a football club.

Unbelievable 👏🏻👏🏻
⚫️⚪️From Peacehaven to England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿– Sadie Gregory’s Football Journey Every football club loves to see its young players develop, but every so often, one of those journeys becomes something truly special. For Peacehaven & Telscombe FC, Sadie Gregory’s journey is one that everyone at the club can be incredibly proud of. Sadie’s footballing story began locally at Peacehaven & Telscombe FC, where she took her first steps in the game and began developing the skills, confidence and love of football that would eventually take her far beyond the South Coast. From those early days wearing the Peacehaven shirt, Sadie’s talent and determination continued to shine through. Her performances earned her an opportunity to progress to Brighton & Hove Albion, taking the next important step on the pathway towards the professional game. 🔵Brighton provided Sadie with another opportunity to develop in a professional academy environment, competing against some of the best young players in the country and learning what it takes to reach the highest levels of the women’s game. Her progress then took another huge step forward when she joined Chelsea. Today, Sadie is part of Chelsea’s Women’s Under-18 setup, competing in the Professional Game Academy pathway against some of the country’s leading clubs. Chelsea’s own match reports have featured Sadie regularly, including her starting at centre-back and contributing to the team’s performances. (Chelsea FC) But perhaps the biggest milestone of all came when Sadie’s hard work was recognised by England. Sadie was selected for the England Women’s Under-17 squad, putting on the Three Lions shirt and representing her country at international level. She has been involved in England’s UEFA Women’s Under-17 European Championship qualification campaign, including appearances from the substitutes’ bench against Scotland and Montenegro. Peacehaven → Brighton & Hove Albion → Chelsea → England. It is an incredible progression for a young player who started her football journey at her local club. For Peacehaven & Telscombe, Sadie’s story is a reminder of exactly why grassroots football matters. Behind every professional player is a first coach, a first team, a first changing room and a first football club. For Sadie, that journey included Peacehaven. And while Chelsea and England are now helping her take her career to the next level, everyone at Peacehaven can look back with enormous pride and say: “She started here.” Sadie’s journey is far from finished. At such a young age, she has already progressed from grassroots football to one of the biggest clubs in the women’s game and onto the international stage. Who knows where the next chapter will take her? One thing is certain — Peacehaven & Telscombe FC will be watching, supporting and cheering her on every step of the way. From Peacehaven to Brighton. From Brighton to Chelsea. From Chelsea to England. Keep going, Sadie. Your journey has only just begun. Everyone at Peacehaven & Telscombe FC is incredibly proud of you.⚫️⚪️👏

“Full moon, half moon, total eclipse” I wonder how many British people’s heads this McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes ad has lived in since the last UK 1999 eclipse? 27 years on I still murmur it to myself every time* I hear “total eclipse”.
