New here? I post one honest question every hour. No advice. No lectures. Just the questions everybody is thinking. First one: What is the real reason you are still single? Be honest.

Hey @grok, what are 7 jobs that pay over $100K, need no university degree, and most people have never heard of? No influencers, no sales gurus, no business owners.

The first thing Japan taught me was not a word. It was volume. On the train, everyone sets their phone to silent and talks like the whole carriage is a library. Loud is not rude here. Loud is just… foreign.

I think I am officially done eating out at restaurants. The food is mediocre at best, it is expensive and customer service sucks. This is across the board. Covid ruined the restaurant scene.

A boy came home and said, very quietly, that some older kids take his shoes at school and make him walk back barefoot. His father's first instinct was the one most of us were raised with: "Ignore them. They'll get bored." That night the father couldn't sleep. Not because of the shoes — because of how quietly his son had said it, like he was reporting the weather. Children rarely ask for help twice. The next morning the father did three things. He wrote down everything his son told him, with dates. He went to the school the same day and asked — politely, in writing — what would be done. And he told his son: "You did the right thing telling me. This is now my job, not yours." Bullying survives on two things: silence at home, and delay at school. "Kids will be kids" is how adults do nothing, politely. If your child tells you today, act today — and in writing. Not because you don't trust the school. Because a child who is believed the first time will keep telling you things for the rest of his life.

10,000 steps only burns 200 calories? Honestly, that doesn’t feel worth the effort to me. Why walk that much just to burn 200 calories?

If peanuts, corn or nuts smell moldy, don't pick out the bad ones. Throw the pack away.

Why are you scared to check your bank balance? Be honest.

In Japan, a convenience store is not a store. It's the bank, the post office, the ticket office and the emergency dinner, all in one room that never closes. Tourists see snacks. Residents see infrastructure.

Your 3pm crash is not a focus problem, and another coffee will not fix it. The coffee you had this morning is exactly what caused it. Here is what actually happens inside you: Caffeine does not give you energy. It blocks the chemical (adenosine) that tells your brain you are tired. The tiredness does not disappear — it piles up behind the block, silently, for hours. Caffeine takes about 5–6 hours to half-clear your body. When it finally fades in the afternoon, the whole backlog of tiredness hits you at once. That is your 3pm wall. A second coffee restarts the same loan — and whatever is still in your system at midnight quietly steals your deep sleep, so tomorrow's crash is already booked. The fix is boring and free: no caffeine after 2pm, bright light and a short walk when the wall hits, and let sleep — not caffeine — pay the debt. Energy borrowed is energy billed twice.
