We are extremely concerned at the thinly-veiled threats to women’s safety at parkrun by a group calling itself ‘Flag and Pole Runners’.
Threats to ‘give transphobes [ie women standing up for their rights] a fright’ are unacceptable. We hope that Run Directors and @parkrunUK will take this seriously on Saturday.
Women and men are allowed to campaign peacefully for fair rules at parkrun. Wearing T-shirts that state ‘Save Women’s Sport’ is a peaceful way to get our message across. Our members have been wearing this message on their running shirts since 2023 when our parkrun campaign started.
We were pleased to be invited to back Reality Rules Runners UK, set up by a group of keen parkrunners to raise awareness of the iniquitous gender policy that allows males to take female course times and records at parkrun. The new running club has well over 600 members and has significantly raised awareness of the issues around parkrun, while encouraging women to run / walk on Saturday mornings.
Parkrun is a great public health initiative. But it is not fair to categorise runners by gender instead of sex. Parkrun is in receipt of public funds running well in excess of £8 million. Some of that money has been spent on encouraging more women to become active, and yet women’s results are inaccurate because males are self-identifying into the female category.
We continue to campaign for fair parkrun and fair and safe sport for all women and girls.
So this chap who wants to ‘give transphobes a fright’ at Halloween parkruns has been emailing parkrun event teams to promote his campaign.
He opens by asserting that @sharrond62 and @wsusportsunion are ‘sueing parkrun because they want to make the event less inclusive.’
That is incorrect. What they want - as do many others - is for parkrun to stop allowing males to run in the female category.
He also asks event teams to add his new club to their club affiliations and promote it on their socials!
Meanwhile, he’s actively trying to drum up support in Facebook and Reddit groups - based on false information. And is now started to gain some traction.
I like to think no event teams would be silly enough to get involved. But I’ve met event directors - and other volunteers - who have been totally ‘captured’ by gender ideology.
Some think running Pride-themed events and flying the ‘Progress Pride’ flag is perfectly acceptable, seemingly unaware - or unconcerned - that it represents contested political and ideological positions that may make some participants deeply uncomfortable.
This new group has apparently been set up in ‘opposition’ to @RRRunnersUK whose members peacefully protest parkrun’s policy by turning up in club T-shirts to run, walk or volunteer. Their rules explicitly state that they won’t approach anyone or discuss the club unless asked.
Contrast this with a group putting out what I personally feel is a rather ‘menacing’ statement about giving ‘transphobes a fright’ at Halloween parkruns.
And let’s be honest … they’re talking about women. Because it’s predominantly women campaigning for fairness in women’s sport.
I’ve seen how hostile some trans activists can be towards women who challenge gender ideology. So I genuinely worry this could put women at risk - and cause disruption at events.
I sincerely hope parkrun will intervene. For me, this crosses the line between peaceful protest and political campaigning.
I love parkrun. I’ve been involved for 13 years and currently give up around 20 hours a month volunteering for an organisation which has a policy I believe discriminates against women.
But if this isn’t dealt with appropriately, I’ll be seriously considering whether I can continue to volunteer my time as an event director.

It’s like a feminist giving away a woman’s last right
It’s celebrating women whilst helping their enemies fight
It’s joining a trendy child mutilating cult
But a little too late.
Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?

Love @parkrunUK! I’d love it even more if results were fair for women and girls. I know it’s not a race, but I enjoy comparing my time with other women my age. Sex matters to running performance, so why not reflect that in the results?

I find it fascinating that supposed left-wingers are campaigning to put male sex offenders in women’s prisons, trying to shut down women-only rape crisis centres and cheering on Big Pharma’s lucrative move into chemical castration of minors, but here we are.

Single-sex toilets, showers and changing rooms are the law NOW - not after another review, consultation or NPCC memo.
The Supreme Court settled the meaning of sex.
Comply, and say sorry.
Police forces should follow the law, not break the law. Yet they can’t be trusted to do so.
WRN have written to Chief Constable Gavin Stephens, the Chair of the National Police Chiefs Council @PoliceChiefs.
We have copied in the Policing Minister Sarah Jones @LabourSJ.

The banality of misogyny isn’t always a virulent mob. Sometimes it’s a smug councillor thanking the frothing thugs screaming “TERF” at women defending single-sex refuges, then blandly talking about “services for all” while women are escorted out the back door for their own safety.
Misogyny… it all sounds so reasonable when Dr Tehseen Khan, a GP and Haringey councillor, explains why he wants males to access women’s spaces… it’s all about the violence against men who tell us they’re women…
Congratulating the demonstrators who forced women to leave by a back door and then required security to walk safely to the station is just the icing on the cake.
Dr Khan here are some FACTS:
❌ Males who identify as women are NOT at greater risk of violence and the police stats confirm this.
🚩 Women and girls ARE at greater risk of sexual assault in all areas of their lives but particularly in mixed-sex facilities as our reports on the NHS, policing, sports facilities have proven. That’s why we need single-sex spaces.
Dr Khan you state that if anyone is triggered by the events in Haringey Council’s meeting they should seek help…
We’re triggered. By you, a doctor who witnessed a baying mob threatening the safety of women asking, quite reasonably, that their council respect the law of the land and provide single-sex spaces for privacy, dignity and safety. And you sided with the mob.
