“Early detection is even more important in younger women.”
Screening mammography for all women at average risk should start at age 40. Women with dense breasts should also have US or MRI.

In Canada, the percent of breast cancer cases diagnosed before 50: 32.3% are in Black women; 16.6% are in White women. In USA, its 22% in Black women and 14% in White women

It was a monumental day today for us at CSBI as we welcomed Dr. Supriya Kulkarni as the new President of CSBI.
Dr. Kulkarni has dedicated her career to teaching, mentorship and providing guidance to international trainees and new to practice, Radiologists, Nationally and Internationally. She a huge advocate, helping to change the screen guidelines for Ontario for women in their 40s.
We are incredibly grateful to our founding member, Dr. Jean Seely for her leadership over the last 7 years. The CSBI has become a respected and trusted voice for information and evidence on breast imaging.
