or as itself the subject of duration, it is completely embraced in the second moment. (The reader will observe that I use the word instant to mean a point in time, and moment to mean an infinitesimal duration.) /2x

From these two immediate perceptions, we gain a mediate, or inferential perception of the relation of all four instants. This mediate perception is objectively, or as to the object being represented, spread over the four instants; but subjectively, /1

For his next cognitive test, Trump should have to identify the correct Dana White.

Completely unironically, David Hume. He made important contributions to political economy, to constitutional theory, and to political theory, and yet he rarely comes up in contemporary discussions of political philosophy.
Who is the most underrated political philosopher of all time?

“"The results were eye-popping. In Michigan, 66% of men between 18 and 29, who made up 7% of the electorate, backed El-Sayed, compared to 32% who supported his Republican opponent, former Rep. Mike Rogers. That’s a 55-point shift toward Democrats from 2024."

Dan is auditioning for SECDEF. So transparent
Congratulations to the new Chief of Staff, @StephenM. Double down on the agenda. Too many people are demanding a change to tough policies because they were unpopular in the midterms. That’s foolish and cowardly. The short term unpopularity of a policy does not make the policy wrong. The President’s priority should be long term benefits (like an Iran without a nuke), not short term popularity.

By this time next week, a lot of people are going to gravitate back to “it was stolen” so they don’t have to reassess their priors.
