Why would the US and Israel get a vote, never mind a veto vote, when they are the perpetrators?

ONE MILLION PEOPLE IN THE STREETS OF ISTANBUL, TURKEY, STANDING WITH GAZA AND PALESTINE.
The anger is spreading. The disgust is growing. And the outrage over what has been done to the Palestinian people is not going away.
And Republicans and Democrats still don't get it.
You don't slaughter civilians, bury children beneath mountains of concrete, reduce entire neighborhoods to rubble, and expect humanity to shrug its shoulders and move on.
WHAT DID YOU THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN?
Did you think the world would forget the images of children pulled from the wreckage? The amputations? The starvation? The families wiped off the face of the earth?
Did you think another billion dollars in propaganda would somehow erase what the entire world witnessed?
YOU CANNOT SPIN YOUR WAY OUT OF A MORAL CATASTROPHE.
And every politician who armed, financed, defended, or made excuses for this devastation should be removed from office... their careers ended.
THE ANGER IS CONTAGIOUS BECAUSE PEOPLE STILL HAVE A CONSCIENCE.
And the reckoning with what happened in Gaza has barely begun.

How then has Elon Musk, whose companies get billions in contracts, spent hundreds of millions in our elections?
The answer: A giant loophole I'm working to close.

Absolutely **phenomenal** from @JoelWebbon. Bravo.
Huckabee thought he'd throw out a threat, a false accusation, and use his political power to intimidate and silence a U.S. Citizen.
Turns out, Webbon isn't someone you want to try to silence, because he took Huckabee's threat and false accusation and metaphorically beat him like a red-headed stepchild (or disloyal diplomat) with the truth.
Webbon writes...
"Ambassador, calling for the arrest and harassment by law enforcement of a law-abiding American taxpayer, in no uncertain terms, is a whole other level of treason - even greater than you've already committed.
I’ll have you know, America has a proud history of calling for the heads of public servants who betray We the People. Our nation was founded upon the precept. It is one of the prouder aspects of our glorious heritage. And on December 3, the Department of Defense will execute a man at Fort Hood for being a traitor.
You are no less a traitor.
And in the end, the dead from your treason will be far higher than the victims of his handgun. You have committed treason on a grand scale, on foreign soil, betraying your oath of office and the people who commissioned you to do the job that you have sat in Jerusalem, doing for a different nation altogether.
And people have died as a result - not just countless Christians thanks to illegal settler violence, who are carrying out the precepts of Talmudic Judaism that declare Gentile lives to be worth nothing - but Americans in Gaza, not “caught in the crosshairs” as though they are collateral damage, but shot on purpose through the head with a sniper’s bullet, another shot through the shoulder blades while wearing a press jacket, and another was dragged behind a car until they died.
And all of them, murdered while Israel knew there was an American ambassador in Jerusalem who would not defend his people, but instead, defend Jewish Palestine.
The Bible says in the watchman passage of Ezekiel that if it’s your job to warn of danger and no one listens, it’s on them. But if you don’t warn of danger, then that blood is on you.
“But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.”
What should be required at your hand, Ambassador? You were the watchman. You chose not to sound the alarm. And God has spoken.
You are washed in the blood, Mike. But not the blood of Christ - but the blood of Christians. It cried out from the ground, and you tried to quiet it...
But now, an American pastor has criticized your conduct, and you have applauded the call for his arrest due to his free speech.
It appears Israel has rubbed off on you.
Political prisoners aren’t allowed in the United States, Ambassador. You’re confusing your one true love, Israel, with the United States. Your affection for Jewish Palestine appears to have survived every inconvenience except an American Citizen insisting that you answer for your disloyalty.
You’re not angry about dead Americans. You’re not angry about dead Christians. You’re angry that YOU must be held to account.
But sir, this is America, and you have forgotten who we are. You were appointed to represent Americans abroad, including Americans who reject your politics and dispute your perverted theology. The office belongs to the nation, and you have sullied it with the stench of anti-Gentile hatred and treason. Frankly, we’ll be damned before we let you remake America into Israel’s image."

I Might Be an Angry Man. But Why the Hell Aren't More of Us Angry?
I might be an angry man. I'll own that.
But if you can watch children being blown apart, their limbs torn from their bodies, and families buried beneath rubble in Gaza—and still defend the Israeli government's actions without a shred of outrage—I have to question where your humanity has gone.
If you can watch Americans struggle with $5 gasoline, $7 diesel, skyrocketing grocery bills, private equity ravaging our communities, and Wall Street turning the basic necessities of life—housing, healthcare, food, and water—into asset classes to be exploited for profit, and you're not angry, what the hell will it take?
If you can watch the wealthy and politically connected escape accountability for the sexual abuse and exploitation of children while ordinary Americans face the full force of the law, and you're not furious, I don't know what to tell you.
And then some of these same people have the audacity to clutch their pearls because I raised my voice? Because I got angry?
Where the hell is your outrage over the things that actually matter?
We SHOULD be angry. We SHOULD be outraged. Not at our neighbors, not at people struggling alongside us, but at the institutions and powerful interests that have allowed these injustices to continue.
What matter's most is what we do with that anger.
We can let it consume us, divide us, and turn us against one another. Or we can channel it into democratic action that demands accountability and meaningful change.
And for the love of this country, we need to stop rewarding the same two political parties with our unquestioning loyalty while expecting different results.
I'm not ashamed of being angry about injustice. I'd be ashamed if I stopped caring.

If you want to know what Europe's dependence on American tech means in practice, look at what is happening to the judges of the International Criminal Court. 👇
After the Trump administration's reckless decision to sanction the ICC, its 🇮🇹🇪🇺 Italian Vice-President, Rosario Aitala, told @Corriere what it looks like from the inside:
🔹️ Credit cards revoked
🔹️ Bank accounts closed
🔹️ Insurers refusing medical claims
🔹️ Most phone apps dead
🔹️ No booking flights or hotels online
One judge came home and said: "Alexa, play some blues."
Alexa never answered again.
Another, a European, booked a hotel in his own country through a European platform. Half an hour later, an email warned him not to try again.
"We are treated with the same methods reserved for terrorists."
European judges, on European soil, locked out of everyday life by a decision taken in Washington. Even European companies fell into line.
Today it is the judges of an international court. Tomorrow it could be any of us.
Time to cut the strings. Start by choosing European digital products. 🇪🇺

🇸🇩 An airstrike on a gold mine on the Sudan-Egypt border killed at least 72 workers on Saturday, according to Emergency Lawyers, a Sudanese group documenting abuses in the war, which blamed Egypt's air force.
Survivors told AFP a jet struck five times around 8 a.m. at Jabal al-Uqaydat, near the disputed Halayeb Triangle, and that many more may be trapped under rubble. The Sudan Doctors Network put the toll at 13 killed and 28 wounded.
Egypt has not yet commented. It is the second deadly strike on the site this year after 23 workers were killed in June, when Egypt's military announced an operation against illegal mining. The country backs Sudan's army in its war with the genocidal UAE-sponsored militia RSF.

Mark Levin is out here demanding criminal investigations into the journalists and sources who exposed his stepson. The same stepson who should have his security clearance stripped yesterday if these “allegations” are true.
He’s not demanding answers about 9 dead Americans. Not asking why his stepson allegedly rewrote embassy cables to cover for a foreign government. Not questioning why the State Department’s human rights report on Israel went from 100+ pages to 9 under his stepson’s watch.
Nah, he wants to know who talked.
And his hissy fit makes a lot more sense when you remember that Mark Levin is the man who has made millions being the loudest pro-Netanyahu voice in American media. The man whose wife ran legal for the Koch brothers’ $236M dark money operation, is currently general counsel of Stephen Miller’s America First Legal, and sits on a state advisory board that works directly with the Israeli Ministry of Defense. The same man whose stepson holds top-secret clearance and allegedly choked off U.S. intelligence to protect the Israeli government from accountability for killing American citizens.
If David Milstein goes down, the whole house of cards comes with him, including Levin and his wife.
And don't forget about the 53 senators who voted on September 29 to block a resolution requiring a State Department report on those 9 American deaths, the ones Milstein allegedly ran cover on. Every Republican except Rand Paul voted no, plus Fetterman of course who cosplays a Democrat. Senator Steve Daines literally told colleagues to vote no so we could “stand with our ally Israel.” Standing with an ally is not burying your own citizens’ deaths. That’s not an alliance, IT'S A COVERUP. Going to look into Daniels....
So, the embassy had the report and Milstein allegedly killed it. Thirty members of Congress wrote to Secretary Rubio demanding accountability and the compromised Senate said no.
And the stepfather of the man at the center of all of it is on national television every night screaming about leakers instead of asking one single question about 9 dead Americans.
If these allegations are true, and I whole heartedly believe them, Milstein needs to lose his clearance and be investigated for treason. Mark Levin needs to be investigated as well and his wife. The members of the Senate who are part of the coverfup of 9 dead Americans need to be held accountable.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

AIPAC. United Democracy Project. DMFI PAC. NORPAC. And every other political machine pouring money into Washington to influence American foreign policy.
Cut off the flow of pro-Israel lobby money into Congress. End the purchase of political influence. Put American foreign policy back in the hands of the American people.
End the super PAC money. End the political payoffs. Expose the donors. Close the revolving door.
No foreign government, corporate lobby, or billionaire donor should be able to purchase political influence over decisions of war and peace.
Our military is not for hire. Our Congress is not an auction house. And American sovereignty is NOT FOR SALE.

At the Acropolis, Marco Rubio (mis)presents the history of the West - from ancient Greece to the contemporary United States - as a single, seamless continuum. This is the logic of anachronism: a distortion of historical time produced by the careless fusion of categories such as Greece, Rome, Christianity, Europe, America, and, ultimately, “America First.” It is as if America has finally discovered that 'intimidation' can be staged more effectively beneath the neon lights of a philosophy of history than in the bare idiom of the cowboy.
Rubio lifts the Greek concept of 'thumos' out of its historical and philosophical setting and recasts it as a celebration of power - of force exercised without law or justice - along with competition and national will. That reading misses a constitutive half of the Greek inheritance. Greece was not only a theater of power and glory. It was also the birthplace of the tragedy of hubris and aggression, from the myth of Troy and Homer’s Iliad; of the critique of imperial ambition in Thucydides’ History of the Peloponnesian War; of political philosophy in Plato’s Republic and Aristotle’s Politics; and of enduring meditations on the limits of power, moral responsibility, and human fate in Sophocles’ Antigone and Oedipus Rex.
This other half of the Greek legacy is deliberately omitted from Rubio’s narrative. History is thereby converted from a field of inquiry and critical reflection into an instrument of political legitimation. What emerges is not a philosophy of history, but a manufactured narrative designed to authorize U.S. militancy and to construct a convenient political myth: a distorted reconstruction of the past in which the politics of the present are made to appear inevitable and historically ordained. Once history is pressed into the service of legitimizing power—the unlawful and unjust use of force—its purpose is no longer to understand the past, but to glorify power itself.
Vasily Vereshchagin’s The Apotheosis of War offers a stark counter-image. Its pyramid of skulls, left behind by conquerors, confronts the mythology of glory with the material residue of conquest. It recalls what remains when history is reduced to the exaltation of power.
At such a juncture, Western thinkers have a responsibility to defend history itself - and the philosophical complexity of Western civilization - against a distorted and apologetic reinterpretation by an aggressive power prepared to sacrifice a civilization’s human achievements in order to legitimize the unrestrained exercise of force.
The danger lies not merely in misreading the past, but in appropriating it to authorize that force, and to aggrandize it, in the present.
