“Any great player wants to be coached hard.
Coaches take players to levels they can’t take themselves.
What great player doesn’t want to be coached hard?”
Being coachable means caring more about getting better than being right.

Nick Saban says he had lived his entire life like he was in a hurry and didn’t even realize it
“When I retired, and I don’t know if I ever shared this with anybody, I spent 50 years of my life being in a hurry and didn’t know it.”
“I retired and the cars are backed up on the bridge and it goes down to one lane. In the old days, I would be the guy that passed all the cars up and cut in at the last minute in front of somebody.”
“I sat there with Miss Terry in the car. She says, ‘You mean you’re not going to pass everybody illegally and cut in?’ I said, ‘We’re not in a hurry.’”
“But it’s the first time when I retired that I realized that I wasn’t in a hurry. And I was in a hurry for 50 years and didn’t know it.”
“I was always hurrying up to the next thing. Solve the next problem, go to the next thing. And you talk about relieving stress, that relieves stress better than anything. I just noticed it in that circumstance. Not cutting into traffic and waiting my turn.”
Real ugly part of breast cancer treatment 2.0. Constant scans/ MRIs. No one can get an IV in because all veins are blown. It’s truly a full time job managing the process. As always, I appreciate all of the support. Calls, texts, cards etc… this too will pass, but geez. 🤦🏼♀️💕

Urban Meyer shares a message everyone needs to hear - average is not acceptable.
"It's so easy to be average. You know it as well as I know it."
"It takes a little something to be special. It takes a little something special to be a great player."
Then he made the standard clear: "We don't have enough great players. To hell with that!...We don't wanna coach average. I don't wanna be around you. Why be around average?"
Average is comfortable.
It's safe and it's not looking to compete.
"Did you push yourself to be great today? Did you do it? If you didn't do it, you lost a day. We ain't got many days to lose."
Every day you don't push yourself is a day you can't get back. Bring a mindset of excellence to everything you do.
"And if there's a touch of greatness in there, how cool would that be?"
The question isn't whether you have greatness in you. It's whether you're willing to work to find it.
Show up, do the work, and compete.
