As schools are re-purchasing devices, a reminder that when it comes to learning, the quality of the device Ss use MATTERS. We also know that Chromebooks have a much shorten lifespan than other mobile devices. thejournal.com/articles/2021… pirg.org/edfund/resources/ch…

There's tired and there's teacher tired. I've been in higher ed for 7 years now. I've taught three 4-hour classes a few times in a day. Still not the same as the first week of school with 8th graders (who I loved teaching). The cognitive demand on K-12 teachers is intense.

(1/2) Rudolph could use a little help! That famous red nose isn’t staying on, which means he can’t lead Santa’s flight. We need to reprogram the LED with the #HummingbirdKit. Do you know any budding engineers that are up to the challenge?

Direct instruction is not bad.
DOK level 1 questions are not bad.
Rote memorization is not bad.
We often completely write something off instead of recognizing that it is a tool with value, limitations, and the capacity to be misused.
