Twitter was awesome, but even I have used it less and less over the past few months and years.

I'm sure I'll still check in here from time to time, but it won't be as frequent.
The Bears used Indiana like the Patriots used Connecticut in 1999 to get a new stadium. Same formula, rinse and repeat.
The Bears are reportedly close to a deal to stay in Illinois. nbcsports.com/nfl/profootbal…
What happens now that the ACC will be AQ-eligible again? Some answers, some more questions. Read my analysis here. #NCAALAX
Should the NCAA tournament expand now that SMU will be in the fold in 2028?
"[ACC] coaches, I believe, are in full support of expanding the field. They have been before SMU was even part of the conversation."

Saint Joseph's University Vice President and Director of Athletics Ashwin Puri announced today that Phil Martelli, the winningest coach in Saint Joseph’s men’s basketball history, will be enshrined in the Saint Joseph's Athletic Hall of Fame as the lone member of the Class of 2027, in an induction ceremony later this year. #THWND

Not sure what's worse, ignoring MLS or ranking the defending Super Bowl champions 42nd on this list.
October 26, 2026, marks a big day in sports, with 15 games across the five major sports leagues.
In honor of the Sports Equinox, here’s our ranking of all 139 Big Five franchises si.com/sports-illustrated/sp…
Very cool news for men's soccer and field hockey--and it's happening this year!
One can hope this filters into other sports, too. For example, seeding only the top 8 of a 29-team tournament (ahem @NCAALAX D-I women) isn't ideal either. I feel like 12 would be a good start.
DI field hockey, men’s soccer to seed 50% of their championship brackets.

The Metro will remain at 13 full members (Fairfield leaves for the CAA at the end of 2026-27). It will have 9 men's lacrosse teams and 12 in women's.
NEC will go down to 8 full-time members. The lacrosse leagues will house 7 in men's and 9 in women's.
First frost of the year report -- October 17! Fourth latest frost of the 11 we've had here. #PureMichigan
Wrote about The American's lacrosse ambitions in 2019 and briefly mentioned SMU's potential. Very cool development.
Another men's AQ will be on the board. I think it might be time for a proper discussion on tournament expansion--20 teams seems about right (just over 25%).
SMU Athletics to launch Texas' first NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse program.

Sometimes it's better to say less than more.
To release this statement 40 days after a workout you approved that pretty much killed your athlete, and then say you want an investigative process that he'd be proud of is really unhinged.
ASU released a public statement from Greg Powers, the entirety of which I've included here:
"Matthew (Mayich) and his family remain foremost in my thoughts and prayers. What happened to Matthew has deeply affected everyone in our program, and I continue to hope for strength and healing for him and his family.
I support the University’s decision to place me on administrative leave while the circumstances surrounding the August 20 workout are reviewed. I believe this will allow the review to proceed thoroughly, independently and without distraction. I intend to cooperate fully and want a process that Matthew, our players, their families and the broader ASU community can have confidence in.
I respect our players’ right to speak openly and honestly about their experiences, and I want every player to feel completely free to participate candidly in the review. I care deeply about these young men and their well-being, and I will respect whatever they choose to share through that process.
I always have and always will care deeply about this team, this program and the people in it. For now, the players deserve the opportunity to focus on one another, on Matthew and on the season ahead. I will support them from a distance while the facts are carefully examined and the process moves forward.”

The most surprising part of this is that the American said no. Especially to JMU.
Miami (Ohio), James Madison & UConn trying to join American Conference, sources told @On3’s @Brett_McMurphy & @PeteNakos. Despite overtures from those schools – including $30-$40 million offer from Miami – sources said league not expanding at this time
