This was one of my more viral posts below. I'm flipping the script here, and giving the liberals and independents who voted for Ford a chance to elaborate on how they plan to address the "affordability crisis" that he ran on in #Nevada. I would like plans and specifically bills that Joe L. vetoed over the last 2 #nvlg sessions to be cited as work. (162 total bills were vetoed, most of the 2025 vetoes were just vetoes of the same bills or similar bills from 2023). I do not want any federal level policies or actions stated, i.e. "impeach Trump", "end the Iran war", etc. I only want things that can be done in Carson City next year when Ford declares an affordability crisis on day one, which was his political message this election cycle. I looked over most of the notable vetoes from both sessions. The seem to revolve around election issues, housing/tenant issues, gun laws, and health care. This is an open mic. Have at it. Ford ran on a 18 billion dollar budget. How would this be paid for, and how would it make prices cheaper on things that affect Nevadans. #vegas #vegaslocals cc: @kipkelly @jake_hansen_ @Sabres1a @John_Mehaffey and of course @AaronDFordNV
After an historic blue wave sweep across the nation in 2026, what does #Nevada have to look forward to over the next four years. Let's take a quick look into what voters in Nevada voted for. Both question 6 and 7 passed by 60+%. I wasn't expecting anything less than that.. For the #nvlg and governorship, here is what I am forecasting going down across the state. In no particular order. -Much tighter gun laws. If you are planning to make gun related purchase, do it now before the 2027 legislative session starts. - Laws passed to protect "renters" at the expense of landlords. Expect many landlords to sell property, especially mom and pop owners. Expect a reduction in single family homes to rent across the valley. The ending of the "right to work" state law. Sisolak was promising to get rid of it in 2022 if he had been re-elected, but he was not. Higher level of taxes and regulation. Expect higher taxes for: car registration-state gas tax-tourist hotel room tax-vice taxes(alcohol, tobacco, weed),etc. The mining industry will have a higher tax rate for that industry as a whole. A reduction or elimination of charter schools and homeschooling. They want everyone in public schools, except for the elite; you can still send their kids to Bishop Gorman. Much relaxed laws for criminals, a revolving door for the judicial system. Money wasted on the homeless problem that will not solve anything. More laws protecting illegals from any sort of federal ICE deportation. And lastly, a state income tax. It will be framed as a tax for the rich, you know, for them to pay their fair share, and for the children, blah, blah. But once in place, they will lower the threshold to pay until everyone has to pay. Bonus content... If Ford wins election in 2030, the (D's) will use the 2030 census to further gerrymander districts to lock in the D majority in the #nvlg for the rest of the 2030-2040 decade. #vegaslocals Fun times ahead. 🙄

Upcoming next 2 games for the @raiders. +10 against the 49ers, +5.5 against the Seahawks. I, along with most of #RaiderNation , feel that we are taking the L this Sunday. My only betting concern is if they can cover the +10 points, especially in garbage time at the end. I think they can. Next week is a much more winnable game, especially with QB1 on the Seahawks out with an injury. Having the Raiders at 5-5 would be great heading into the two games before the bye week. I think they could go 1-1 against the Broncos and Browns. I like an upset against the Broncos, as the Raiders seem to make more of an effect in divisional games.

Shocker here, the DSA candidate wins the L A. mayor race. Who could have predicted that.....🙄

Mark my words... they will have her win in November. She is the candidate they want in the Mayor's office, just like the commie mayor in New York.

John adding much needed clarity to my online rambling. 👇
I have seen several discussions this morning that Nevada is on its way to a state income tax. I suspect most claiming that don't understand the process. The same discussion happened when Sisolak won in 2018, even though the governor plays no part in the process. It requires a constitutional amendment by either: 1) Passing the legislature in two consecutive sessions (gov can't veto it) plus winning a statewide referendum. In this scenario, passing in 2027/2029 in Carson City and 2030 on the statewide ballot. Or: 2) Voters refer it to the ballot through a petition drive, which then requires it to pass two consecutive statewide elections. There is no serious push for a NV income tax. The state is in strong financial shape. Any politician who pushes this would almost certainly lose the next cycle for proposing something so unpopular, and voters would never approve it anyway.

I forgot another important point- if another Covid like event happens, Mr. FORD is shutting down the strip again. How could I forget that?

Further content as this post has brought out the reply crew. I didn't want to write a novel on the first post, but I have to add additional info. Tax laws have to pass 2/3 in the legislature twice and be approved by the voters. The Ds are missing a single seat to do this. This is the reason I said FOUR years instead of TWO years. Or they can pass it with a simple majority and send it to the voters the following cycle. Voters wouldn't approve this, right? You don't understand how easy it is to manipulate the #turbonormies. Picture the T.V. ad now. The US is in a recession. The Ds spent like drunken sailors in 2027, and there is a massive budget shortfall in 2028. Its either massive budget cuts or taxing the rich, maybe like the top 1000 or 2000 earners in the state. What are the voters going to do? Socialism is the path of least resistance. The voters will vote yes for this. I won't, but others will.

My honest prediction for tomorrow night: D's gain control of the House +7 D Ds gain control of the Senate 51/49 All 3 D reps from Nevada win re-election. Both questions 6 and 7 pass. And AaronFord wins... by less than 1%, with race not being called for several days. Maybe wins by 800-1200 votes max, statewide. Joe has the lead tomorrow night, but ballots come in over several days that push Aaron over the top. Not the outcome I desire, but the most realistic outcome. #Elections2026 #vegaslocals

Just my observations and pattern recognition. Both questions will pass with at least 60% voting yes. All 3 D house reps are in heavily gerrymandered districts post 2020 census. They took apart CD1, and added D voters to CD3 and CD4. CD3 used to be a toss up seat, now all the districts are at least D+4 now. Dina Titus was big mad as she used to have a easy seat to defend, now it's harder. Furthermore, the midterms almost always go against it the incumbent president and party. The Governor race will be decided by independents and their view on the economy, inflation, and mostly gas prices, Joe has no control on federal level policies, but he will be held accountable for it. Is it fair- no, but politics is ruthless.

The streak continues, as the grand hit on the 7th day. That would be 4 maxed out grands in this bank of Dragon Link machines that have hit within 7 days after hitting snowman level [18,888.88]. I never did play after work.... #vegas #vegaslocals
The dragon link bank of machines have finally hit ⛄️ snowman level- 18,888.88. The other photo was from Friday night when I left work. They usually hit within 7 days of maxxing out at our property. I might take a stab at it after work on Thursday if it's still there. #vegas #vegaslocals

(1/2) BREAKING: Gunlock Falls is flowing! Gunlock Reservoir in southwest Utah has made a miraculous comeback for a second year in a row! Last checked the reservoir was sitting at 55% capacity on October 15, 2026.

11 out of 14 this week. The Monday night game doesn't matter as you can hedge it. Cowgirls fall apart in O.T. Falcons lay an egg Picking the over/under is hard, so I'm not mad about that leg losing. I'm pretty sure no one picked this week perfectly, so the progressive will live on to week 9. #nfl #sportbetting #vegaslocals #vegas
This weeks football picks, Halloween edition. I changed 2 games on the 15 leg progressive, which no one has hit yet this year and is at $86,475.00 for a $5 bet. #vegas #vegaslocals

The 4 corners area is getting pounded again. The San Juan River is expected to reach a new historic river height after passing it last week. Experts are expecting even worse flooding as infrastructure is still damaged from the last storm. Filling up Lake Powell, one flood at a time. #ElNiño
I don’t think the hydrological event in southwest Colorado is getting enough attention. This flooding event is historic and that is not hyperbole. The San Juan River at Pagosa Springs is now expected to crest at 19.38 feet; nearly 4.5 feet higher than the historic flood just last week and almost 2 feet above its all-time record. Successive events of similar magnitudes compound impacts given that infrastructure has previously been weakened. I expect this event to cause significant damage to infrastructure across much of Southwest CO.

Update on all things gardening at the house. Kieffer pears are done and are in the fridge. They store well in the fridge for months, and were grown on farms back in the day as they would keep in a cellar over the winter. Pomegranates are extremely close to being ready for harvest. I'm going to cut a wedge out on a few to see if they are ready. #urbangardener

I pulled a baby pomegranate off the tree - it looks about done. The citrus is starting to change colors as it ripens during the winter.

It's starting to happen, the end of the drought in the American SW and the partial refilling of the lakes, primarily Lake Powell. The super El Nino is putting up numbers here.... can we see Lake Powell at 3580' by next spring? 40 feet is a very doable goal. Everything in the blue circle will be drought free by spring of next year. This map is 4 days old, and will have even less drought colors after this last batch of rain. #ElNino
