I am very, *very* proud of this piece. It's an album review, but it's much bigger than that. I would be deeply honored if you gave it a read. (See bio. Tryin' to bypass the al-go.)

Oh wow, this is such an astute way to frame it. Spot-on as usual by April Ajoy, one of the relatively few influencers I would describe as delightful, all the time. Follow her if you don't already!
Evangelicals: We are a Christian nation and need a Christian government! America: Okay support programs that feed the hungry like Jesus said. Evangelicals: It's not the government's job to be Christian. PICK A LANE

This place is a hellhole. It has an entirely different vibe & identity than it did before Elon took over. It used to be fun. Now it's more often grimy & menacing. I'm plotting an escape by Thanksgiving. If you're one of my people on here, feel free to DM me your socials. Peace.

This administration is Evil with a capital E. If you vote for them, you are participating in Evil.
A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him. Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country where he had no ties. He was then sent to his home country, despite a determination by a U.S. immigration court judge that he could not be deported there due to likely persecution. cbsn.ws/3Ude66r

PLEASE NOTE: If you reply to this with delight about people being deported, I will not engage with you. I will simply block you. Life’s too short to debate bigots on Twitter. May karma wallop you in the end. ✌️

I just heard SGA say "It is what it is" in talking about the absolutely gruesome, gut-wrenching injury suffered by his teammate Jalen Williams, and man... THAT IS THE DUMBEST, MOST GLIB, MOST MEANINGLESS PHRASE THAT'S EVER BEEN NORMALIZED. I hate it so so so so so so much.

Please support my friend, Pastor Josh Scott, one of the kindest Christians I've known. Every time he comes to the defense of a progressive person of faith, the snarling trolls & bots & Christian nationalists come out of the woodwork with an appetite for blood. It's evil.
Two things: 1) @ZachWLambert is a wonderful human and pastor who loves Jesus deeply. 2) Be the kind of Christian that charlatans like @howertonjosh call “heretics.”

I really, really love this tweet. 😄
I really dislike the phrase, "It is what it is" but there's not much I can do about it.

Sunday's outing with the kids was a gem 💎9 delightful hours, 3 nice parks, 2 playgrounds, 1 gorgeous autumn hike, 2-on-1 football in a grassy field, & a stop at the mall to visit their favorite sports store & see 2 hours of football at Dave & Buster's. Being a dad is the BEST.

That thing where you allude to having a low income & a "reverend" you don't know pops in to say you should really learn to budget, even though knowing how to budget is a central quality you cultivate, & literally the only reason your homeschooling family of 4 is not bankrupt.

Mike is dead right on this. If you were told that giving 10% is your spiritual duty, you were lied to. (As I was lied to for 2 decades.) A whole lotta churches owe a whole lotta poor congregants a whole lotta $$.
As a Christian you are not commanded to give 10% of your income to your local church.

It is what it is. (Namely, a singular, un-gendered, third-person pronoun used to refer to non-human things or general situations.)

After work, the kids and I played a 90-minute 2-on-1 football game at the park near our house. My wife brought the kids water at one point & took over as all-time QB for a few drives. It was the golden hour. For a little while, life stood still. And all was right with the world.

I think I solid case can be made that "Ultraviolet (Light My Way)" / "Acrobat" / "Love is Blindness" is the most incredible 3-song run of U2's career. But I know it would have stiff competition from that *other* one from 4 years earlier...

In college, I would have told you that "Discotheque" / "Do You Feel Loved" / "Mofo" was even better than either of these. And I do still love the Pop album. It's quite underrated. But man, I was young and greeeen to put that one on top. 😄
