$900 billion has been added to US stocks at the market open despite Trump losing control of Congress.
This market reversal is insane.
Just a few hours ago, global stocks were crashing as Democrats swept both the U.S. House and Senate.
Nasdaq futures plunged more than 2%, while Japan's Nikkei and South Korea's KOSPI suffered massive losses.
But now look at how much these markets have recovered from today's lows.
• S&P 500: +2.18%
• Nasdaq: +3.13%
• Russell 2000: +2.31%
• Dow Jones: +2.16%
• Japan's Nikkei 225: +5.09%
• South Korea's KOSPI: +4.71%
These are massive recoveries in just a few hours.
So why are markets suddenly recovering?
One reason is that investors are starting to understand what the Democratic victory actually means for Trump's remaining two years.
Democrats have won both chambers of Congress, but that doesn't mean Trump has lost all his powers.
First, Republicans still control Congress until January 3, 2027.
After that, Democrats can block new legislation, investigate the administration and push for changes to government spending, AI regulation and crypto policies.
But there's a major limitation.
Trump can veto legislation passed by Congress, and overriding that veto requires a two thirds majority in both the House and Senate.
Democrats have won majorities, but they don't have enough seats to override his vetoes on their own.
This means Democrats can make Trump's economic agenda much harder to pass, but they also can't simply force through every policy they want.
The same applies to the Iran war.
Democrats could attempt to restrict military funding or pass legislation limiting further strikes, but Trump could veto those measures.
So the election doesn't automatically end the war or completely change U.S. economic policy overnight.
And markets may be starting to price that in.
A divided government could lead to political deadlock, but it could also prevent major policy changes that investors were worried about.

🇺🇸 PETE HEGSETH FIRED HER. NOW SHE'S ABOUT TO TAKE A REPUBLICAN SEAT IN CONGRESS!
This story is almost too beautiful to be true.
Nancy Lacore, a three-star U.S. Navy vice admiral with 35 years of military service, is on the verge of a stunning Democratic victory in South Carolina's 1st Congressional District.
In August 2025, Trump's Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth removed Lacore from her position as commander of the Navy Reserve. No public explanation was given.
But instead of disappearing quietly, she entered politics.
And she chose one of the most difficult battlegrounds imaginable: a traditionally Republican district previously represented by MAGA firebrand Nancy Mace.
Now, with more than 98% of ballots counted, Lacore is leading Republican Jenny Costa Honeycutt by approximately 0.7 percentage points. A recount is expected because the margin is so narrow.
Think about the irony.
Trump's administration removed a decorated admiral from military leadership. Now that same admiral could help Democrats take control of the House of Representatives.
Hegseth took away her command. American voters may give her a seat in Congress.
Sometimes political revenge doesn't require a single angry word. Just a ballot.
