NYSE’s parent company just partnered with a crypto shop to bring 24/7 perpetual futures into the US. Stocks, commodities, FX, crypto — bets that never expire, pending CFTC approval. Stan Druckenmiller’s excited. So Wall Street looked at offshore leverage casino hours and went “yeah, we should do that, but with KYC.” Nothing says mature market like never clocking out.

DoorDash is buying Instacart for $17 billion. This is one day after the FTC ordered both of them to explain whether they use your personal data to decide what you pay. Love the timing. Really reading the room. So the app that brings you dinner and the app that brings you groceries are about to be the same app. They're pitching it as more choice for consumers. Which, sure. Two companies turning into one is famously how you get more choice. Deal doesn't close until late 2027 at the earliest. Enjoy the competition while it lasts.

Safety hazard alert! ⚠️ A newly constructed road in Hyderabad features electric poles standing dead center in the driving lanes. Residents slam HESCO & local authorities for this extreme negligence that risks lives daily. #RoadSafety #SindhGovt #Hesco #Pakistan

Grok Bot sitting through a two-hour Zoom meeting so you don't have to? Imagine! The possibility is there. It could join Zoom or Teams calls, listen to the discussion, and give you a rundown of everything important. Not just what people said, but how they said it. Who sounded confident, who had concerns, and what the overall mood was. Think board meetings, public hearings, or those endless work calls where the useful bits are buried under an hour of talking. You get the important details. Grok Bot gets the buzzing ears. @Grok @Bot @spacexai / Writer: Annette, Designer: Janné

Brewers win the World Series. First one ever, 57 seasons in. Beat the Rays 4-1 in Game 5 last night. And 31,000 people back in Milwaukee packed their own ballpark to watch it on the scoreboard. Sat in a stadium with no game in it and watched TV together. Most Wisconsin thing I've ever heard, and that's a compliment. Meanwhile the Trop grounds crew spent half the night re-raking the mound because Misiorowski kept tearing holes in it. Five and two-thirds scoreless anyway. Good for them. Took long enough.

LIFE magazine's coming back in print next month. It's 250 pages, quarterly, no traditional ads, and $45. Forty-five dollars. For a magazine. And honestly? I kind of get it. Everybody's phone is a firehose of garbage, and somebody's betting people will pay real money just to sit and look at good photos for a while. No idea if it works. Weirdly nice thing to root for, though.

season ends and the man's on a plane to japan before they've even cleaned out the lockers. that's either a plan or a panic
David Stearns went to Japan to see Teruaki Sato play right after the Mets' season ended. Will Sato be an offseason priority? SNY's Chelsea Janes with more: "Don’t rule out Teruaki Sato as a big addition. Stearns went to see him in Japan firsthand as soon as the Mets' season ended. You don’t make that trip if you aren’t seriously considering making a push for him."

Britain's new chancellor gave his first Budget today, and the line everybody's walking away with is about gherkins. He's cutting import tariffs on 100-plus supermarket items to bring food prices down. Kemi Badenoch stood up and said the big promise to undo 40 years of neoliberalism got everybody "4p off gherkins." Meanwhile there's more borrowing, and banks and energy firms are expected to pass their new taxes straight to customers. But hey. Cheaper pickles.

A Chicago architectural firm has released a proposal that would move the Chicago Bears to a domed stadium in Bridgeport. Details: tinyurl.com/mrxnvn2f

The Daily Record's political editor in Scotland reportedly quit after an alleged affair with Labour MP Joani Reid. This is the same guy whose paper ran the warm exclusives about her Labour suspension getting lifted this summer. Private Eye claims one of them went up hours after the two of them spent the night together. And she's the MP whose husband got arrested in March on suspicion of helping Chinese intelligence. I genuinely don't know how anybody in Scottish politics gets any work done.

keeping your abs up for the president is a very specific part of the job description
Sen. Jon Husted (R-OH) said he and his wife "have a good sense of humor about" the times President Trump has complimented the Ohio junior senator's physique. "I told her the other day, I'm like, 'Hey, I got to get to the gym more often. I have a reputation to uphold,'" he told CBS News' @NikolenDC on Wednesday ahead of Trump's rally in Chillicothe, OH.

Haley Stevens lost the Michigan Senate primary to Abdul El-Sayed by about a point, endorsed him, and then kind of stopped showing up. Now her fiancé, a lifelong Democratic donor, tells the Detroit News he's voting for Republican Mike Rogers. He says El-Sayed's rhetoric is making Jews in Michigan less safe. Six days out. She's still backing the ticket. He's just hitting a Rogers event with Ted Cruz. Thanksgiving should be relaxed.

So James O'Keefe and Cam Higby walked into Minneapolis polling places back in August, gave poll workers the names of real registered voters, and filmed the whole thing to show how easy it supposedly is to cheat. Today they got charged with felony unlawful voting and identity theft. For the thing they filmed themselves doing. The big asterisk is that they stopped before signing the oath. So, most of the way. I don't know, man. Bold move, posting the evidence yourself.

Day 2 of building my own app 🚀 Today I decided to sketch out the app’s flow to get a clearer picture of how everything should work together Unfortunately, I didn’t have as much time as I’d hoped 🥲 I’m juggling this project with my full-time job in cybersecurity and university, so finding time for everything is a bit of a challenge But hey, even a little progress is still progress! 🥹 For those of you building your own apps or side projects, how do you balance everything? Do you work on them a little every day or mostly on weekends?
