Twitter feels like a metaphor for climate change. Some people are anguished as things fall apart faster than expected, many soothe themselves with gallows humor, while so many carry on as if nothing is afoot.
The app hung on a refresh and x.com wouldn't load for me. I feared it was the end of things but realized I had nowhere to look to verify! Are any news apps ready to take the mantle to give us quick updates when the inevitable happens?
My first year of college, a dorm was torn down over Winter Break and everyone moved to a new one. In the last weeks prior, everyone vandalized the doomed building. Beautiful art and profane alike. Twitter feels like that now.

We spent over a year reporting about Hasidic schools. We want people in the Hasidic community to be able to read the story. So we translated it into a Hasidic dialect of Yiddish. It may be the first time the NYT has ever published an article in Yiddish: nytimes.com/yi/2022/09/11/ny…
