Ever wondered what rTMS might be doing at subthreshold intensities? 🧠⚡️ Our new review covers the many ways low intensity rTMS can change the brain, and the possible mechanisms at play!

Our new Perspective on non-invasive brain stim (particularly rTMS) is out! Explore how recent research shows plasticity, network, and cell-type specific mechanisms & how to leverage animal studies to refine our understanding and application of rTMS/tES.

Excited to be heading to Oxford to join @ArminLak and his lab and get stuck into some interesting research! 🧠 Very grateful to @royalsociety for the funding and support
We are happy to welcome @JessicaMoretti_ to Oxford, where she joins @OxfordDPAG on a Newton International Fellowship

Our new paper shows that LOW intensity rTMS is sufficient to induce brain-wide network connectivity in the 🐭brain
Evidence points to prominent subcortical changes (striatum! amydala!) and modulation of parvalbumin interneuron activity

a great collaboration 🇦🇺🇨🇦 with (co-first!) @DTerstege who brought this project to a whole new level
+ contribution from the great @eugenia_poh
Finishing up at Addiction2022 with a nice suprise. Great to represent the lab and meet lovely people doing interesting research along the way 🧠⚡️🇮🇹

Academic writing is wild bc you’ll read four articles just to write one sentence.
Anyway, here’s a thread of resources I’ve been using to speed through this review I’m working on:

We looked at whether low-intensity rTMS could affect motivation in wildtype or ephrin-A2/A5-/- mice and looked for any corresponding c-Fos changes in the mesocorticolimbic pathway after the chronic rTMS.

Happy to share that our first #depression paper is now published! 🎉 In this one we used MRI to validate the CRS behavioural model of depression.
Stay tuned for our next paper, where we’ll explore the changes following treatment with rTMS
