Eastend, SK has been a place we try to hunt every year since I was a kid. The scenery is remarkably diverse. Thanks to Gary Southgate, Eastend has another attraction: train tours.

A strong and steady Saskatchewan economy means more opportunities for families and communities across our province.
According to Stats Canada, Saskatchewan’s economy grew by 3.1% last year, outpacing the national average of 1.9%.
That growth reflects the strength of our resource sector, building construction and export industries, and most importantly, the hardworking people who keep Saskatchewan moving forward.
Nothing compares to the peace I feel when driving across Saskatchewan.
I think the beauty of Saskatchewan is that it doesn't demand our attention.
Some places make us feel like you’ve arrived somewhere special. Saskatchewan makes me feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
And I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of that.

Tariffs drive up the cost of living on both sides of the border.
Last night’s US election results were due at least in part to the impact of those harmful tariff policies.
We now have an opportunity to reset our relationship with the U.S. and restore free and fair trade between our two countries.
I know Canada is ready to do this.
Hopefully, the US is as well.
I’m a Canadian conservative. I’ve never aligned with the MAGA movement.
I remember an exercise in Grade 12 (many many years ago) where we mapped out Canada USA political spectrum. We learned then how close Canadian progressive conservatives were to USA democrats.
It’s slightly different today. But not different enough that Canadian conservatives suddenly fully align with American republicans. It’s much more nuanced and broad than that.
The majority of Canadian, fit in the 4-8 range (based on % of vote).
Nothing about this should surprise anyone who understands the Canadian political landscape.

In January, a new Congress will take office. As a former U.S. Ambassador to Canada, I urge its members to make repairing our relationship with Canada an early priority. Canada is our neighbor, our friend, and an essential partner. The work of reconciliation should begin now.

Since 2022, 7,500 doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals have joined Saskatchewan’s health care system.
54 new Nurse Practitioners mean 43,000 more patients with a primary care provider.
More than 100,000 surgeries and procedures were done in 2025-26.
The Regina Urgent Care Centre has seen 80,000+ patients in two years.
The Saskatoon Urgent Care Centre will be completed soon and Prince Albert is coming next.
We know there’s more work to do. We’re doing it. And we’ll keep working to put patients first and provide the best possible care for the people of Saskatchewan.
