Breaking News LAUSD finds high school teachers created ‘hostile environment’ for Jewish, Israeli students Three keffiyeh-wearing teachers at a Los Angeles high school pushed pro-Palestinian political messaging through dance recitals, classroom flyers and classroom lessons — creating a “hostile environment” for Jewish and Israeli students, investigators found. The LA Unified School District’s Office of Student Civil Rights concluded the teachers at Canoga Park High School violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and a California law barring biased instruction, according to its findings. The probe stemmed from a complaint by the North American Values Institute (NAVI), filed with the Jewish Teachers Los Angeles and Emet Legal. NAVI said the district substantiated all 11 of its allegations. The report doesn’t name the teachers, referring to them Teacher 1, 2 and 3. Investigators stressed that criticism of Israel and support for Palestine “do not, by themselves, establish Title VI discrimination.” What crossed the line, they said, was teachers using their authority, class time and school programs to repeatedly push the same message. The bulk of the probe’s findings centered on Teacher 1, the school’s dance instructor and adviser to its Students for Justice in Palestine club. She taught students about Palestinian resistance through the music, movements and history of their dances, and described her students as “taking a stand,” the report says. A May recital opened with a student introduction about destroyed schools and homes in Gaza that urged support for Palestine and the club, according to the report. She then had students review the dance team’s YouTube recital playlist — which included selections framing Gazans as “martyrs”— for their graded final exam. The teacher denied operating the YouTube channel, while the principal said she did, the report found. Investigators also found that she summoned 49 students from class to attend an SJP meeting in June, kept “Free Palestine” and genocide-related posters in her classroom windows all school year, and offered community-service hours for attending Gaza fundraising at her church, according to the report. The district found no evidence she changed grades or penalized students who didn’t share her views. Teacher 3 repeatedly tied Israel to genocide in class, with students recalling comparisons between Gaza and the Holocaust, the report stated. He filed videos titled “Is Israel Guilty of Genocide?” and “How Did the Nakba Happen?” in a folder labeled “Videos – The Armenian Genocide,” and urged students to join the SPJ.

A landmark accountability win for Jewish—and non-Jewish students alike—and a model for schools nationwide. NAVI brought a comprehensive complaint to Los Angeles schools—with detailed evidence of how teachers pushed their own political agendas in the classroom. The district then investigated and substantiated all 11 allegations of unlawful political advocacy by teachers at Canoga Park High School. The district found that teachers violated both federal and state civil rights laws when they misused their classrooms and school activities, and directed and managed student clubs to advance a one-sided and biased political agenda about Israel. The district ordered the school to take corrective action, including mandatory teacher training on keeping politics out of the classroom and preventing antisemitism, removing biased materials, and changing affected curriculum. NAVI helped make this happen. We exposed the conduct, documented it publicly, and worked with partners to obtain records and file the complaint to prompt the investigation. We also want to recognize LAUSD for conducting a thorough investigation and taking action. Public schools can—and should—be partners in upholding civil rights and ensuring students can learn free from political coercion. Now comes the next step: turning these findings into stronger policies that prevent partisan political advocacy from taking over the classroom—and using those policies to drive lasting accountability. This is NAVI’s model in action: map the problem, mobilize partners, disrupt harmful activity, and transform findings into lasting policy change.

11 allegations. All 11 substantiated. Accountability in action. At Canoga Park High School, the Los Angeles Unified School District substantiated all 11 allegations of teacher misconduct involving anti-Israel political activism in classrooms and school activities. The district ordered corrective action, including teacher training, removal of biased materials, and curriculum changes. This is what accountability looks like. And it shows what’s possible when documented evidence meets sustained advocacy. NAVI exposes misconduct, mobilizes partners, and turns findings into meaningful change. Now, this case can serve as a model for schools nationwide. Classrooms should be places of learning—not platforms for political indoctrination.

Leftie teachers are shocked that they might soon be prevented from wearing Palestine badges in the classroom. Spare a thought for the rest of us who are shocked that you were doing that in the first place. You taught kids, including Jewish kids, while adorned in the colours under which more than a thousand Jews were massacred by Islamo-fascists just three years ago? What the hell is wrong with you? ✍️ Brendan O’Neill Article | spectator.com/article/the-gr… | @spikedonline

According to the Palestinian Authority's official school textbooks for grades 6 through 9: • The Canaanites were Arabs • Palestine grew tomatoes and potatoes in the 600s • Muslims invented zero and reached America in the 800s • The Third Crusade was in 1291, sent by "Britain" • George Washington declared independence at the "Third Philadelphia Congress" • World War I was fought by the Axis • Israel burned al-Aqsa • A terrorist who killed 13 children on a bus killed "soldiers" • Ancient Israel did not exist This is what UNRWA and PA schools are teaching to children. Let's take a journey through the Palestinian Authority's fantasy world. 🧵

FRANCE: Rioters have set fire to the historic City Hall in Limoges, France, causing its roof to burn and its clock tower to collapse. Built in 1883, the 143 year old landmark survived 2 world wars and was designated a protected historical monument in 1975. It’s gone now.

Jewish Teachers Los Angeles needs your support. In May 2021, a handful of LAUSD students, staff, and families decided they'd had enough. • Enough of a teachers' union that treated anti-Israel activism as part of the job description. • Enough of Jewish kids learning to keep quiet about who they are. • Enough of Jewish teachers keeping their heads down and hoping it would pass. It wasn't going to pass. So we organized, without asking permission or approval from anyone. That became Jewish Teachers Los Angeles. JewTLA. Five years later, there are sister groups in San Francisco, Oakland, Santa Ana, Hayward, Long Beach, Washington State, Massachusetts, New York City, Virginia, and across the United States and Canada. What started here is spreading, because it's needed everywhere. We build relationships with board members and legislators. We file the public records requests nobody else wants to file. We read the fine print. We show up at the board meetings. We connect educators and families to the right attorneys. We stand next to the teacher who gets targeted for being Jewish, so she isn't standing alone. We've done all of this lean. Now we have to grow. So here's my ask. Don't just like this post. Give. • $18 is chai. • $54 makes you a Yedid l'Morim, a Friend of Teachers. • $540 makes you a Tzaddik. $1,800 or more and I will personally find you and hug you. About 2,000 of you read what I post here. If every one of you gave $18, that's $36,000. From one post. From one afternoon. I have grandchildren who will walk into classrooms someday. I want those classrooms ready for them. Yours too. 👉 jewtla.jewishlausd.org/donat… Then share this. Somebody on your friends list is waiting to be asked.

A guy gets into a car accident and needs medical attention, but refuses to be treated by Jews. So they call 911. Two Orthodox Jewish EMS volunteers show up. He refuses again. They call for paramedics. Two Hasidic Jewish paramedics show up. He finally gets to the hospital, only to discover that the nurse assigned to care for him is also an Orthodox Jew. Imagine being so blinded by hatred that you’d rather delay your own medical treatment than let a Jew help you. Antisemitism is brain rot. There’s no other way to describe it.
