Endless exhibits of how much discourse here is driven by WEIRD distinctions - no, in most cultures the norm is more like a slop / stew bowl with tons of ingredients thrown together, a measure of whiteness is how cleanly you separate your protein - sometimes my week is too busy to be fully white though
My observation eating at wasp households is that they eat One Meat, One Carb and One Vegetable, all cooked separately and that inhabit different parts of your plate and idk if I'm on board with that

The White underclass is a miracle, and probably why the West has succeeded. Thomas Frank wrote “What’s the Matter with Kansas” to explore why poor Whites don’t vote for socialist policies that would (narrowly, in the short-term) benefit them. Of course he concluded it was about racism, as he was predetermined to do by his ideology. But I actually think he highlighted an incredibly important fact: poor White Americans, uniquely among underclasses globally, don’t vote for socialism. The typical dynamic is rich people trying to keep what they have and poor people trying to take it. But the American lower-class White does not behave this way, because he has a deontological aversion to government interference. The collection of attitudes and beliefs described as “rugged individualism” are often assessed in terms of how they impact the individual, but I think it’s much more important to consider how they impact a nation. (White) America has the world’s least resentful or grasping underclass. This is a treasure. They should be preserved and rewarded. Many might be net-negative fiscally in a narrow sense, but they are hugely net-positive if you consider their votes. Trump famously said “I love the poorly educated.” He was right to say this. Every nation has an elite. No other nation has such a high quality of virtuous common people.

There are actually two different versions of Conquest’s 3 Laws, which compete & take turns mattering: 1. Everyone is liberal in the domain where he is most known. 2. Any anonymous forum not explicitly run by the left will sooner or later become right-wing. 3. The behavior of a bureaucratic organization can best be subverted by encouraging its members to anonymously post about it. 1. Every girl is conservative about the social structures that she actually buys from. 2. Any organization not explicitly focused on stamping out social signaling will sooner or later become a girls’ club. 3. The behavior of a bureaucratic organization can best be understood by assuming that it’s controlled by an unofficial cabal of mean girls.

Progressives join, immediately set about including as many progressives as possible and openly muse about tearing the entire thing down. Remember Conquest’s Second Law

Not gonna dunk. Neil is a sincere guy with a good heart. But we must continually re-explain where things stand on immigration because it will take another two presidential terms to cement new norms. 1/n
Why are we even debating whether a man of good character with an American wife and American kids "belongs" in America? Of course he does. If the law doesn't welcome that, it's a bad law and it should be changed. what are we even doing here lol

I know this is a cliche in sports, but I’ve never seen a team that is playing against themselves more than their opponents than this Texas team - they can struggle on offense against UTSA as much as they can bully Ohio State or Ole Miss, and can simultaneously beat any team in the country by scoring 27 as long as they don’t let opponents score on defense or special teams, but they can also lose to almost any team as well. If they could simultaneously

Worst call of Trump II, by far, has been the failure to back DOGE resolutely, reinforce it with the FBI and intelligence services, pull Palantir into the fight, and use it as the crowbar to prise apart, defund, and roll up the entire progressive deep state.

Weird to see people react to this sort of stuff as if it will hurt Paxton - do we not remember the last 10 years? Trump went to civil war with the entire old Republican party and rank and file republicans overwhelmingly backed Trump at every step of the way.
Two members of one of Texas’ best-known Republican families are publicly supporting Democrat James Talarico’s bid for the U.S. Senate. statesman.com/news/texas/art…

If “Abdul El Sayed” is willing to hijack an interview, who knows what else he might hijack. We just can’t take the risk
Abdul El Sayed explodes and just hijacks the interview. He’s just a very small man. In every way.

This week, our Hindu neighbors celebrate the Goddess Durga during the festival of Navaratri.  Our neighbors will dance Garba, venerate the Goddess Durga with Sindur Khela, receive Tika from elders, set up Golu in their homes, and so much more. Whether your family calls it Durga Puja, Dashain, Dussehra, or Navratri, may this festival mark a season of reflection and renewal.
