Today, my thoughts are with Rhiannon Whyte’s mum and everyone who loved her.
On 20 October 2024, Rhiannon was brutally attacked as she made her way home from work. She was just 27 years old. Three days later, she lost her life.
Think about that for a moment. A young woman going about her everyday life, finishing work and making her way home, never knowing she would never make it home to the people who loved her.
Behind every headline is a family left to live with unimaginable pain. A mum who has to face every day without her daughter. Birthdays, Christmases and all the little moments that should have been shared, but never will be.
Rhiannon was someone’s daughter, someone’s mum someone’s friend and a young woman with her whole life ahead of her.
No words can undo what happened, and no mother should ever have to endure the pain of losing her child in such horrific circumstances.
Today, I want Rhiannon’s name to be remembered, and I want her mum to know that she and her beautiful daughter are in all of our thoughts.
Rhiannon will never be just another headline. She will never be forgotten. ❤️ @siobhan1437154

I very rarely ask for anything. And I never ask for anything for myself. I have always trusted that those who believe in the gruelling work my team and I are doing @TMOFCharity at The Maggie Oliver Foundation helping victims and survivors of sexual abuse will donate to help us grow and evolve if they are able.
However, this is very different! I’ve never done this before but I am asking if there is anyone out there who can help this very brave and eleoquent survivor @fionagoddarduk.
Fiona has had to move from her home for safety reasons following the abhorrent release of her vile rapists under this abomination that is the early release of predatory paedophiles, murderers and child rapists. She has been threatened and lives in real fear of repercussions, and her young children are inevitably hugely affected by this too.
She has 5 young children all under the age of 12, and in just 3 weeks since fleeing her house in fear they have already been moved 3 times through totally unsuitable temporary accommodations as the authorities say they can’t find her and her children a permanent place to settle.
Can anyone help? Her young children deserve a safe and secure home, some stability, to settle in new schools and have some semblance of normality in a life that has been constantly rocked by the experiences their mum has endured, and yet she still fights on to expose the horrors of our broken systems.
This could be an opportunity to break the cycle, but as everyone knows our public services are on their knees and houses IMO are going to the wrong people, and when there’s a real need of help, this just isn’t forthcoming!
We are trying our best to find her somewhere, but the more hands there are to the pump the better chance there is of succeeding.
Fiona is willing to consider a move anywhere. Council house, private rental, anywhere in the Uk . For all those who may be in a position to help, feel free to contact either me in a DM or Fiona on X too.
Fingers and toes all crossed that someone can help, and that this little family who have suffered so much can finally look ahead to a brighter future after a lifetime of trauma and being failed.
Thankyou 🙏
While Andy Burnham is busy playing international statesman and damaging Israel–USA–UK relations, perhaps he should remember the people he was elected to serve here at home.
My family and I have now spent more than three weeks in emergency accommodation, being repeatedly moved from one placement to another because my grooming gang perpetrators are being released after serving just 50% of their sentences.
And while they are being released, their friends and family have been emboldened to stalk, harass and threaten me.
They found out where I was living and threatened to burn our home down.
Yet despite those risks, they are still being released early.
Meanwhile, my family is left living out of temporary accommodation with no permanent home available any time soon. Our lives are being repeatedly disrupted, our children are being dragged from place to place, and we have no idea when this instability will end.
This is what happens when governments put politics before public safety.
I know what happens when authorities ignore warning signs. I lived through five years of abuse while Labour governments, councils and institutions failed to protect me. The consequences of those failures have followed me for most of my life.
And now, years later, I am still paying the price while the perpetrators continue to receive opportunities and second chances.
Where is the accountability? Where is the protection for victims? Where is the concern for my family?
Andy Burnham, what about us?
You can make political gestures, chase headlines and worry about winning votes, but ordinary people are living with the consequences of the decisions you make.
I am not asking for special treatment.
I am asking why the people who terrorised me are being given their freedom while I am the one who cannot safely live in my own home.
That is not justice.
That is not protecting victims.
And it is certainly not putting public safety first.
I was failed once by the system. I refuse to be failed again.

You don’t have to hate somebody to think they are wrong. You don’t have to be a bigot to oppose regressive religions. And you don’t have to follow every fashionable moral cause to be a decent human being.
We desperately need to relearn those distinctions.

Exc: The system for tracking probation workloads is set to be scrapped just weeks before Andy Burnham’s revised early-release scheme comes into place.
The Workload Measurement Tool (WMT), used since 2018 to monitor whether probation staff are carrying safe caseloads, will not be used by the government from September.

This is appalling. Any sexual or violent assault committed by male predators released after serving only half their sentence will lie at the government’s door. They are yet again sacrificing the safety of women and girls to political expediency.
This morning, I received a phone call from my Victim Liaison Officer confirming that my abusers are still going to be released after serving just 50% of their sentences.
Mohammed Usman is due to be released on 24 August, just next week, 7.5 years before the end of his 15-year sentence.
Because my abusers were sentenced in 2019, they fall under the rules that applied before the changes introduced in 2020. They therefore aren't subject to the 67% threshold that applies to many offenders sentenced later. By mere months, they avoided those changes.
I am grateful that they are no longer being considered for release after just 33%. But I cannot pretend that serving 50% of a 15–20 year sentence is justice.
Over the next 12 months, five violent sexual offenders who were convicted in relation to my abuse will be released having served only half of their sentences.
There is nothing I can do now to prevent those releases. And I have had to accept that, however difficult that is.
But this isn't where the fight ends.
We are already working on a campaign to make sure that when these offenders are released, any breach of their licence conditions is taken seriously and met with the full force of the law.
Violent sexual offenders should never walk out of prison believing they have simply "got away with it." Victims should never be left feeling that a 15 year sentence, or more, actually means serving only half of it.
I have spent years fighting for justice, not just for myself, but for thousands of victims whose lives were permanently changed by these men and other abusers like them.
I am grateful that the rules have moved away from the possibility of release after 33% and that many are serving longer behind bars, but 50% still leaves a very bitter pill to swallow.
This cannot continue.
Justice has to be about victims and public safety, nothing else.

No matter where you stand on immigration, watch this. Britain’s asylum accommodation system has become a publicly-funded profit machine.
Chris Murray MP asks why the annual accommodation cost rose from £17,000 per asylum seeker in 2020 to £41,000 in 2024. Clearsprings managing director Steve Lakey replies that the company’s average profit margin was 6.9%, with profits above roughly 5% subject to a Home Office profit-sharing mechanism.
Don’t let that seemingly modest percentage distract you. The original ten-year contracts were expected to cost £4.5 billion. The estimate has since risen to £15.3 billion, while the three main providers made £383 million in profit between September 2019 and August 2024. Hotels housed 35% of those in asylum accommodation but swallowed 76% of the annual contract cost.

I learned this lesson in the motor industry. A British plant can manufacture hundreds of thousands of cars and still report little or no profit in the UK. The legal scam is called transfer pricing: components, materials and services are bought from companies within the same group, often based in the parent company’s home country, at prices determined inside that corporate structure. The overseas subsidiaries record the profit while the British plant records the cost, sometimes even a loss.
That is why a modest headline margin proves very little. Follow the money through the whole group and see where the profit finally lands.
It's also why this exchange matters. Murray asks about a reported £17 million paid to a UAE-registered consultancy owned by Clearsprings owner Graham King. Lakey describes the payments as being for “strategic services” and confirms they were made by the wider Clearsprings Group, outside the Ready Homes profit-share calculation.
No allegation of illegality is required to see the problem. The asylum seeker gets a room, the community absorbs the consequences, private companies collect at every stage, and the taxpayer receives the bill.
This is privatised failure, guaranteed and funded by the public.
So long as there is money in managing the problem, no one paid to manage it will ever solve it...
