World-class students and faculty deserve world-class facilities to learn, discover and build. The new Autry C. Stephens Engineering Discovery Building is an investment in our students, in the future of engineering and in the industries that power Texas. Grateful to The Stephens Greth Foundation for helping make this possible.
We’ve reached the culmination of a decade of investment in our engineering community, an $820 million commitment, to providing best-in-class places for our faculty, students, and staff to teach, learn, research, and work 🤘 Here's to the newest addition! news.utexas.edu/2026/09/21/n…

Garrison Hall is a special building on the Forty Acres. For a century, it has been the place where history comes alive — and where so many Longhorns have been shaped and inspired, including me. Proud to honor this historic and iconic building as it turns 100. 🤘

The University of Texas opened its doors 143 years ago today. Since then, generations of Longhorns from all across our state and beyond have contributed through excellent teaching, research, leadership, and service. It is a privilege to carry that legacy forward. The best days of this great University are ahead of us. Happy 143rd, UT. 🤘

Proud to stand with Chairman Eltife. Our students are exceptional. All of them are Longhorns.
"When I stood on the sidelines at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium Saturday night and looked up at the seats filled with incredible fans, I saw Longhorns. It’s the same remarkable view I have at graduation ceremonies and anytime I’m on campus. I’m proud to celebrate all our Longhorn students today and every day. Thank you for making us proud." Kevin P. Inspiring to see Longhorns and Buckeyes come together on this day of remembrance. Thank you to these ROTC cadets and veterans for honoring the victims who lost their lives 25 years ago.
25 years later, we remember. This morning, nearly 200 UT students, veterans and visitors from Ohio State gathered at Mike A. Myers Stadium to climb more than 2,000 steps for UT’s annual memorial stair climb. The climb honors those lost on 9/11 and the first responders who climbed the 110 floors of the Twin Towers. 150 years ago, Texans called for "a University of the first class." Living up to that charge means preparing students for successful careers, thoughtful citizenship, and purposeful lives that benefit our state and nation. That is the vision behind our proposed new Core Curriculum: a broad and balanced learning experience across the arts and humanities, social sciences, and STEM. utex.as/4zfAUlx

This selection demonstrates that UT is the nation’s leading research university. Our Longhorn teams will work with DOE and national labs to accelerate discovery, strengthen America’s energy security, and advance U.S. priorities.
Five University of Texas at Austin teams have been awarded funding through the U.S. Department of Energy’s Genesis Mission, with Longhorn researchers leading two of the projects. Out of more than 5,000 proposals submitted nationwide, only 278 were selected for funding, making this an extraordinary achievement for the University.
