From 1960 until 1974 (when he retired) Deacon Jones led the league in sacks finishing his career first all time. He remains third to this day.
Jim Marshall was 2nd in that same time period.
There have been several plays this year alone that are worse than *that one*. That cardinals fumbled interception touchdown might be the worst I’ve ever seen.
Several more cuts to happen in the coming months and a lot of deserving names. But little steps are needed before the big one.

First one had a typo in the graphic. My bad.
These are the guys Jim either tied in sacks or outright Outsacked.
This is the first time I compiled the AFL stats. Having the stats to be an AFL Pro Bowler blew my mind.

A quick spreadsheet I made of Jim's per season sack total compared to
1. Pro Bowlers
2. 1st and 2nd team All-Pros
3. AFL All- Pros and Pro Bowlers
A perennial All-Star talent overlooked then and now
Keep the faith. Football immortality this time next year.

The team needs to be pulling overtime to get him into the Hall. Team sponsored pushes have worked for deserving players in the past.

#Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf announced that the team will wear a helmet decal remembering Jim Marshall throughout the 2025 season.
Great job from @JaguarGator9NFL as usual. Hit the nail on the head repeatedly.

Jim Marshall to the HOF retweeted
My heart is very heavy hearing this news. Jim was an inspiration to me on and off the field. He will be missed, but his legacy will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with his wife and family.
He may be gone but his legend will live on until they pry Vikings football from our hands.
The fight to get him in the hall will continue.

The #Vikings family mourns the loss of Legend Jim Marshall.
Marshall set the standard for what it meant to be a Minnesota Viking, starting 270 consecutive games, appearing in 4 Super Bowls and serving as team captain for 14 consecutive seasons.
