TONY WEST APPOINTED SPORTING DIRECTOR 🤝 Maldon & Tiptree FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Tony West as Sporting Director. For many supporters around Park Drive, Tony will need very little introduction. Tony has a long-standing association with the club spanning around 10 years, having previously served Maldon & Tiptree in a number of capacities, including as Vice-Chairman, as well as being involved within the club’s youth football setup. His knowledge of Maldon & Tiptree, its history, its people and the local football community made him a natural choice for the new ownership as we build the next chapter of the club. As Sporting Director, Tony will work closely with the ownership and Football Directors S. Miah and I. Furtado, acting as an important link between the owners and the first-team football operation. His responsibilities will extend beyond the first team. Tony will help us rebuild and strengthen the relationship between the senior club and Youth Section, support our plans to develop an U23 side and Women’s football whilst working with the new club committee. Tony will also help establish stronger relationships with local businesses, sponsors and the wider Maldon community. Tony will also represent the club on matchdays, home and away where possible. Speaking on behalf of the ownership group Sunny said: “Since taking over the club, one thing that has been very important to us is understanding and respecting its history. Tony has given around 10 years of his life to Maldon & Tiptree. He knows this club, he knows the local area and, most importantly, he genuinely cares about where this football club goes next. We don’t want to forget the people who have helped build this club while we’re trying to move it forward. Tony has been a Vice-Chairman here before and brings experience and relationships that you simply can’t manufacture overnight. His role won’t just be about the first team. We want him helping us bring the whole club together - ownership, first team, women’s football, youth football, our supporters, sponsors and the local community. We’re building something for the long term at Park Drive, and having people like Tony alongside us is a massive part of that. Welcome back, Tony. 🍓
