This morning on @BBCr4today Stephen Powis MD of NHSE reminded us that 11% of NHS posts are unfilled. Imagine a football team starting every match with 10 players. Still a game of football, sure. Would they ever win? Would their players stay?!

To anyone alarmed by the prospect of too few nurses at work in the UK today:
There are too few NHS nurses at work EVERY day.
If nurses continue to be paid less than they deserve, this will get WORSE; more will burn out, retire, leave, & indeed decide not to train.
