The SS United States sat at a dock for 30 years the cowboys didn’t make it to one NFC championship game in that time span
If SEPTA is pursuing RRR, this seating layout seems more conducive to the anticipated heavier crowds for the three S lines that they plan to implement, no? I wish it were the plan for the Silverliner IV’s
Here’s an inside (first) look at one of the Exo cars from Montreal!
SEPTA crews are currently working hard to get these ready for service. This includes installing a Positive Train Control system, shortening exterior doors to accommodate higher platforms, and (as you can see) changing the signage from French to English!
The Exo coach cars will operate with #SEPTA’s existing push/pull locomotives and join the ten railcars leased from Maryland Area Regional Commuter Rail (MARC) last November.
Funding for the purchase of the railcars comes from the nearly $220 million in
additional capital dollars allocated by Governor Josh Shapiro in November 2025 to support urgent safety upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
Restez à l'affût des mises à jour!

If revenues were $2.7mn and the cost of operation was $3.6mn, am I understanding correctly that they closed to save $900k? Seems ridiculous
If you watch only one clip from the Philadelphia City Council hearing about the closure of the Academy of Natural Sciences, let it be this one. It — and I don't say this lightly — must be seen to be believed. #SaveTheAcademy

After years of Trump’s baseless attacks on Philly’s elections, his DOJ is now sending monitors here without explaining why these counties were selected. The Commissioners should deny them access inside our polling places & not legitimize manufactured suspicion of election fraud.

Moussa Diawara, the Malian national featured in this shockingly poorly researched @60Minutes report, now faces allegations of immigration FRAUD after his asylum application surfaced, revealing that he claimed to be a HOMOSEXUAL man who feared persecution in Mali.

If the left in Philly were technocrats I think I could be persuaded very easily, but I don’t get that impression whatsoever
Nithya Raman really is running to be the Zohran Mamdani of L.A.
Someone who is pretty far left, but also technocratic, results-focused, and intent on dismantling the city's machine politics. And also aggressively pro-housing.
If she wins, I wonder what other big cities could see candidates with this brand of politics pop up.

Good article on the challenges Philly faces in making its rivers and creeks clean enough to swim in again…it is possible! whyy.org/articles/philadelph…
They should make a movie about the July Crisis. Endlessly fascinating characters and the most pivotal month in the history of the world

the main subject of this article is someone who:
1. was living in a mold-riddled nycha building
2. was fortunately able to be moved to a nicer, cleaner nycha building
3. now opposes the plan to fix the moldy buildings because she no longer lives there so she doesn’t care

You can't just say "the DSA candidate didn't put the DSA platform in their commercials, therefore it's bad faith trolling to claim they share those beliefs." If they disagree with the DSA that much then they should quit.
Kyle Kulinski: Centrists using Fox News talking points to attack the left, like bringing up these unpopular ideas in the DSA platform
Tim Miller: The DSA platform is crazy though, maybe just change it.
Kyle: The ones you would consider crazy like abolishing prisons or open borders—none of our candidates ran on those things. Do you agree with me that's basically a Fox News talking point that centrists are echoing against their left flank?
Tim: Yes. I agree with that in part.
