2025 has been a wild ride, so far, I've survived. Here are some highlights of the things that I made, worked on, or was a part of.
I'll have more tricks, flicks and animation survival tactics in 2026.
Happy Holidays ya filthy animals! 🌲☃️💫

Air pollution linked to dementia, Parkinson’s and autism. Microplastics, nanoplastics, silica, metals, soot and other debris — is getting through to our brains. One suspect: Hotter, drier conditions are fueling wildfires and their smoke.

A Utah woman peacefully protesting the Utah County Planning Commission’s approval of a data center ordinance was violently slammed to the ground by a sheriff’s officer. The state is always violent whether we are peaceful or not. This is not democracy. This is a dictatorship of capital.

This Mexico City food market doubles as a solar farm. It's covered in 35,000 solar panels and could generate 27 million kWh per year.
Isn't it time for all commerical buildings to get a solar upgrade? #ActOnClimate

SARS-CoV-2 evolved since 2019 to evade human biological defenses. Obviously.
But not just how it’s been known previously. Also to evade our *Hardwired* human biolog.
That is - Not to just evade our prior immune responses - but actually to better evade eliciting a robust response by our naive B cells.
Looking at prepandemic cryopreserved samples, @jbloom_lab showed a 3x difference in the fraction of naive B cells responsive to the original Wuhan spike RBD protein compared to more contemporary Omicron lineages.
This isn’t a simple “evade prior elicited antibody response” as we all understand
This is actually - the virus mutates to help avoid detection altogether by humans - uniquely by evading aspects of the human germline encoded naive B cells responsive repertoire.
They look at mice, for example, and saw no difference in ability of naive B cells to respond to the different variants
Altogether it points to a world where we not only have immune imprinting to impair protection, plus the “regular” virus mutation to avoid existing immunity, but now mutation specifically to avoid hardwired human biology.
In new study, we show that SARS-CoV-2 has evolved decreased inherent antigenicity in humans, as quantified by a ~3-fold decrease in the number of naïve human B cells that can bind the spike RBD.

"Respirators are the most reliable PPE in every scenario where airborne transmission is the primary route of infection. Properly-fitted respirators protect critical workers, allowing healthcare systems & the industrial base to continue operating..." Great work x @OliviaHelenS 👇

If this finding holds up in future research, the implications could be profound. SARS-CoV-2 may be evolving to become harder for immune systems to recognize, potentially weakening our ability to mount effective responses to new variants & prolonging the public health burden.

Taste is gone. Can’t smell. Hearing is haunted by piercing tinnitus, so who cares if I go blind- do we really need our senses? Let’s just keep getting infected.
Don’t let that mask get in the way. 😖🤯😖
