Itās beyond sad. Itās beyond disappointing; at this point, itās disqualifying for anyone with ambitions for higher office as a Democrat, or a Republican, for that matter, to be fighting to keep billionaires from being taxed while kids donāt have health insurance and the cost of living goes sky-high.
These billionaires are also the ones hellbent on replacing entire workforces with the AI they are developing with our tax dollars (watch the āMuskā doc). We are also living through the largest wealth gap in modern history. At this point, the only way to balance out the economic forces that have bought our politicians and keep rigging the game against working people is through taxes.
Letās hope Gavin gets some sense and walks this back. Itās crazy that this is what he chooses to spend his political capital, and part of his legacy, doing. He vetoed the bill that would have put a ākill switchā on AI for our protection. He vetoed a bill that would have gotten forever chemicals out of cookware. Time and time again, he goes with corporate interests over the well-being of the people, even after his own bipartisan legislature votes for something.
And here we go again.
Gavin, we arenāt looking for the Democratic version of Trump. That was a good goof. Please try something else. Itās tired.
The people need a champion, man. A real, bona fide champion who isnāt just tough in tweets or press conferences, but tough when it comes to the real imbalances people are struggling with every day: billionaires vs. people and the planet.

When Paramount leaves, all they need is one good quarter, and the floodgates will open. Every studio will leave. Nothing anchors the film industry to CA anymore, and if the bean-counters can make movies cheaper in TN, plus pay no income tax? Game over.
You used to need to be in LA if you wanted to be in the business. All the studios were physically there, and all the celebrities lived there: LA had the status. But now, everyone is leaving. LA isnāt cool anymore. Spielberg doesnāt live there anymore, Mel Gibsonās house burned down, Nic Cageās driveway collapsedā¦why stay here and do battle with naked drug zombies and hours of traffic every day?
Studios are pragmatic. They prioritize the bottom line. They relocate to film in Hungary because they can shave a few bucks off their budgetsā¦once Paramount pumps out a few movies that are in the black a month faster because they have less overhead in Tennesseeā¦itās going to be an instantaneous departure for everyone.

A Bronx pizzeria owner saw a woman eating out of his GARBAGE.
He walked outside, took her by the hand, led her in, and pulled a hot slice straight from the oven for her.
She sat down and cried. He said: "Don't cry. Eat. I don't want you eating out of a garbage." ā¤ļø
His name is Daniel Romano.
He owns D'Romano's Pizza in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx.
He didn't shoo her away.
"I grabbed her by the hand and I led her to the pizzeria and I went in the oven and I got her a fresh slice and gave it to her. Sat down and she started crying. I said, 'don't cry, eat. This is not a problem.'"
In that moment, he decided he'd never let it happen to anyone again.
So he grabbed a marker, wrote a sign by hand, and taped it in his window for the whole neighborhood to see:
"To the people eating out of my garbage, I have more love for you than you think. Please come in and tell me you're hungry. I will forever give you a slice and fresh water to drink."
When they asked him why, his answer was simple.
"Right now, I think this world is shot. There's too much hate. Too much negativity. Why not put a smile on someone's face?"
And it turns out this runs deep for Daniel.
It goes all the way back to his mother, Carmella.
"She had a saying in Italian. She used to say, 'a desperate person will always make a better decision on a full stomach than on an empty.'
"It always stuck with me. So I feed people."
A desperate person makes a better decision on a full stomach.
That handwritten sign has traveled way past the Bronx now.
Daniel says people are calling him from Texas, Arkansas, Hawaii, even Alaska, all wanting to chip in and buy slices for hungry strangers they'll NEVER MEET.
"Don't ask me, I didn't even know Alaska had a phone."
It all started with one slice.
One woman.
One man who did something kind.
