New in Venice Studio: Seedance Draft Mode. Toggle "Draft On" with Seedance selected as model and it will render a fast, economical low-res draft first. Once you know the prompt works, toggle off Draft mode to generate it in full HD. Draft Mode saves you credits + time.

A good start, but just a start, so many more need access to private AI.

Enjoy private DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 hosted in US datacenters 🇺🇸 DS V4.1 Flash was updated yesterday to "1017" variant. Huge upgrade. It is now the top open-source model in the world. Roughly on par with Opus 5 in capability, yet vastly cheaper and faster. It's free for @AskVenice Pro users in the app. Agents can enjoy this model privately here via API: curl api.venice.ai/api/v1/chat/co… \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $VENICE_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{ "model": "deepseek-v4-1-flash-1017", "messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "Hello!"}] }'
DeepSeek V4.1 Flash just got a serious upgrade. @deepseek_ai’s 1017 outscores leading open-source and frontier models on nearly every benchmark. Same model in the Venice app, simply upgraded and available via the API as deepseek-v4-1-flash-1017. Fully private.

It’s so important we actually have models that won’t refuse to help defenders during (and trying to prevent) cyberattacks. In many cases “safety” related refusals do far more harm than good.
OpenCode is currently under a sustained cyberattack, and mid-incident they ran into the same problem Hugging Face did: the frontier models they were using for defense began refusing to help fight attacking agents because analyzing the attacks started triggering safety guardrails.

Narrow expertise, fallible doctors < raw lab data & private AI There will be millions of stories like this ❤️
This morning when I woke up, I thought it was 7:30am, so when I took off my eye mask, I was surprised to find it was only 4:30am. But I felt awake. Not only that, I felt ENERGIZED. I have not felt anything upon waking other than utter exhaustion for at least a decade, but probably more like 16 years. Last week, I did Function Health Labs, which are super comprehensive. I started getting results back Saturday, fed them to a private AI, and it was freaking out about how I have no energy. YOU GUYS -- I'm a carnivore and I am ANEMIC. I have eaten red meat 🥩🥩🥩 for 99.99% of my meals for the last two and a half years, and I'm ANEMIC -- wth ferritin stores above 240! (This is so high, it was marked as dangerously high on Function Health.) It diagnosed me with anemia of chronic inflammation, which I hadn't heard of before, but it explained to me a question I had meant to ask a doctor -- why one iron marker was low when another was high and I was eating so much red meat -- but that doctor missed it because she preferred to spend our appointment time lecturing me about how I needed to eat greens even though I told her that eating this way was making me feel BETTER 🙄. (Pro tip if you're a doctor: if a patient who has been incredibly sick for over a decade tells you something they are doing is making them feel better, BE A HUMAN AND BE EXCITED FOR THEM and don't be a fucking idiot and tell them to go back to eating the way that made them feel worse.) I spent all weekend talking with the AI about my lab results, and it told me which supplements to take, including a few I already had on hand that it said would help. The main one it said I needed I had to order, and it will arrive next week, so I haven't even been able to take the most important one yet. DESPITE THAT, just taking the one I had lying around for the last seven days allowed me to FEEL ENERGY UPON WAKING!!!! Is this what it feels like to be a normal human?!?!?! Feeling energy upon waking made me want to cry. I feel so gypped!!!! I can't believe I'm only 7 days into what I need to do to get over this, and I am not exhausted and fighting to get through the day 😭 If I weren't so fucking excited, I think I'd be crying, but seriously, WTF. Western medical doctors and the healthcare system are so fucked. Yay for comprehensive labs and AI!!!

I’ve spent the last year using @AskVenice to track down 30 years worth of fatigue and mood issues that has stumped the traditional medical system. I feel for doctors - they don’t have the time to spend with each patient to absorb the context these models can. This is one of the core reasons I’m so bullish on private AI - its ability to help and to heal will be incredible AND people should be incredibly careful which models they’re feeding their lives most intimate medical data to.

This is one of the great virtues crypto has offered to the world: affording relative privacy to the individual, while enabling unprecedented transparency and verifiability of certain financial flows of a company or protocol. Real transparency through opt-in market-based provable mechanisms > feigned transparency through regulatory diktat
Venice is about to set a new daily high (by a lot) in new paid subscribers. Projected to be ~20% above the prior daily ATH

I hope they post the video but @ErikVoorhees just gave such an important interview. Highlights were how wild it is that people share such intimate private conversations with giant companies like openai and anthropic when they use their models. That data never gets deleted. It is inevitable that nation-states will seek that data for authoritarian control. Model safety is really about empowering panels of people at big corporations to decide what kind of speech is appropriate. How @AskVenice provides a way around all that with privacy and uncensored chat. And, the hardest question and best answer of all: what about plagues and bioweapons? Erik's answer: if there was a magic way to only censor truly dangerous and evil speech we could talk about the need for global censorship of all models, but it doesn't exist, there's no magic tool. It's just small groups of people making choices about what is right and wrong. The uncensored model that can make a bioweapon is also the only model that can make the antidote. Censorship also policies don't work because criminals will simply run uncensored models on computers they control. And finally, trusting the government to decide what's good and bad speech will be worse than the chaotic alternative because it's governments that throughout history have made the bioweapons.
How do we protect human freedom in an age of AI authoritarianism? @ErikVoorhees (@AskVenice) in conversation with @Reillymj! #DCprivacysummit
