💥REPORT: Justice Minister Sean Fraser politely admits Carney runs his government like a dictatorship.
"Look, I haven't surveyed every Liberal member, but the pathway we put forward wasn't based on what we thought our caucus members would support."

CTV is doing the exact same thing
In their recent interview, Frank McKenna is introduced only as “Former Canadian ambassador to the United States.”
No mention that he has been Chair of Brookfield Corporation since 2010 — the same firm where Mark Carney was Chair of Brookfield Asset Management until he ran for Liberal leader
No mention of his long-standing ties to Carney, or that he has repeatedly praised the Prime Minister’s direction
Viewers are left with the impression they’re hearing from a neutral former diplomat, not the current chairman of one of the world’s largest asset managers with deep connections to the PM. No mention that Carney still stands to gain advantageously from two specific Brookfield funds
Selective disclosure isn’t just a CBC problem @omarsachedina
Frank McKenna has been a director of Brookfield since 2006 and has been the Chair of the Board of Directors for Brookfield Corporation (formerly Brookfield Asset Management) since August 2010. He endorsed Carney for Prime Minister, and he might have been instrumental in his interest to run as far back as 2012... but CBC only calls him "former Canadian ambassador to the United States"

🚨BREAKING: The Liberals just voted against Bill C-264, leaving their Liberal tanker ban in place and preventing the export of crude oil from Prince Rupert on B.C's north coast.
This shows that Prime Minister Mark Carney is not serious about making Canada an energy superpower.

The EU never backed it. The @EU_Commission President did. This is good lesson for Canadians about the difference btw the EU, the Commission, the Member States & the Parliament. Canadians should have learned this from CETA. Carney should have learned this at the @bankofengland .

Hold on a second. Canadians have been told, for months, that a key tenet in the Prime Minister's whole trade strategy is "walk away from Washington, pivot to Europe". Now we find out his own officials told him in December 2025 that the pivot runs straight into a wall?
The EU's carbon tariff hits Canadian steel, iron and aluminum, the same metals already hit by U.S. tariffs. And even though, with great fanfare, the Prime Minister is forging ahead with some kind of "associate membership" for Canada in the EU, an exemption is "not currently possible." In other words, he sat on that detail for 10 months, until an access to information request forced it out days before he hosts the Canada-EU Summit.
So the plan is: turn down the August terms that were agreed then disagreed to in three days with the U.S., tell workers Europe is the answer, and quietly know Europe is putting up its own border charge. According to the @CBCNews report, that charge is close to $900M a year in exposure in Newfoundland and Labrador, $792M in Quebec, and adds up to $150 more per tonne of steel by 2034.
And recall that he weakened the carbon price in his Alberta deal while knowing that, with it, he made an EU exemption even harder to get.
What kind of diversification is it if you're trading one tariff wall for two and hoping nobody reads the memo?

PM @MarkJCarney is pitching Europe as Canada’s escape from U.S. tariffs. Now $2.8 billion in Canadian steel, aluminum and iron is set to be hit with a European carbon tariff too.
CBC News reports internal documents rule out an exemption for now. 🧵👇 (1/7)

For those who decided to invent some bizarre new authoritarian law-and-order rule today to justify Moraes' ban on Bolsonaro leaving the country -- that if you're under investigation (without even being charged), it's normal to have your passport seized -- please note:
Lula's son is engulfed in several major financial scandals and investigations relating to lobbyist corruption. His passport has never been seized or cancelled. In fact, he left Brazil to go live in extreme luxury in Spain (in the same neighborhood where several of the world's highest-paid soccer players live), where nobody can explain the source of what appears to be his great wealth.
Countless rich and powerful people in Brazil, including Lula's allies, are under investigation yet freely leave the country when they want: jetting off to Dubai, France, wherever. Truly bizarre how some on the left start fabricating extremist police powers when it suits them.
Brazilian authorities and media are trying to find out where Flavio Bolsonaro is.
Brazil's notorious authoritarian Judge Alexandre de Moraes -- before the votes were counted -- already had an order prepared to seize Bolsonaro's passports and bar him from leaving the country even though **he's been charged with no crime** (there are various pending financial investigations). Moraes signed the order barring Bolsonaro from leaving Brazil SEVEN MINUTES after Lula was declared the winner on Sunday night.
A media outlet in Argentina this morning reported that Bolsonaro entered Argentina to fly to the US. His friends and allies deny this, but Flavio could easily just appear in Brazil or even by video and has not done so. Argentina is being sketchy, evasive and somewhat uncooperative with Brazil's federal police (Lula and Milei are obviously not allies).
Whatever else is true, it is not exactly a sign of a healthy, normal or functioning democracy when the candidate who narrowly loses a presidential race -- and concedes defeat -- is suddenly barred from leaving the country by a Supreme Court Judge now globally notorious for censoring, imprisoning and otherwise persecuting his critics and opponents of Lula's government. It is also worth noting that Bolsonaro's party dominates the Senate, having run on a vow to impeach Moraes, and this is seen by many as a kind of leverage/hostage ploy by Moraes to cling to power.

Perhaps the reason so many people are holding on to political “activist” identities is that they are afraid to go back to just being them. Just a plain person. @ClubRandom_ @billmaher
Ouch. What a loss.
Portland’s Royal Sonesta: bought for $108.3M in 2016. Now reportedly sold for $6.83M for 220 rooms—just $31,000 per key. A staggering 93.7% price collapse.
This is what happens when government fails at public safety, downtown disorder spirals, Measure 110’s consequences go unaddressed, and Multnomah County’s mental-health system fails people in crisis.
Tourism doesn’t thrive where visitors feel unsafe and downtown businesses struggle to survive.
Portland didn’t get here by accident. Policy choices have consequences—and taxpayers, workers, businesses, and property owners are paying the price.

Things that make you go Hmm! Liberals shut down debate on a motion to have Diana Fox Carney, Mark Carney's wife appear before the Fisheries and Oceans Committee to discuss her appointment as Canada's new "Oceans Envoy" and the $1.2 Billion plus tax dollars she's been given to do it. #cdnpoli
This was the motion:
That, given the recent appointment of Canada’s Ocean Envoy and Chair of the 12th Our Ocean Conference, and the Government of Canada’s recently announced $1.2 billion investment in ocean protection, the committee invite Canada’s Ocean Envoy to appear for no fewer than two hours, at the earliest opportunity, but no later than Friday, November 27, 2026, to discuss the Envoy’s mandate, priorities, and plans to advance Canada’s ocean conservation and fisheries interests, including preparations for the 2027 Our Ocean Conference, the government’s financial commitments, and the anticipated costs associated with hosting the conference; and that the Ocean Envoy be requested to provide the committee with a copy of the formal mandate, any associated terms of reference, and a breakdown of the anticipated costs of hosting the conference prior to the appearance.
