A pope speaking flawless Midwestern is rather jarring.
Pope Leo XIV says the pope doesn’t take sides in tomorrow’s Villanova–Notre Dame game in Rome. Robert Prevost, he admits, has another opinion.

El-Sayed went on this bizarre rant against Pete Hegseth -- claiming that Hegseth "rode the pine" in "whatever sport he played" in high school. He invoked Hegseth's mother (moms are fair game now, huh?), and claimed she was "the type" who would have worn her son's jersey to games. *Hegseth was an all-state point guard in high school in Minnesota, set various school records. He played college ball and got some floor time in the 2001 NCAA tournament. El-Sayed played club lacrosse at Michigan.* Here's El-Sayed's animosity-filled diatribe against Hegseth: "You know he would have rode the pine. He probably got to start 2 games his entire career, playing whatever sport it was." "His parents came and cheered so hard for him." "Bro, I feel bad for you. Somebody told you you're a lot better than you really are." "There's something about being a brown kid whose parents...no matter what you do you're never enough." "For him, the very fact that he made the team: his mom was making cake, she was wearing his jersey, she had a cap made for him. You know the type."

This is actually kind of wild because once you hear it laid out like this you can’t unhear it. The 90s “wow… yeah” sarcasm and the early 2000s vocal fry on conference calls hit way too close to home. Armisen’s ear is disgusting in the best way.
Fred Armisen breaks down the fascinating evolution of conversational accents and speech patterns decade by decade on The Tonight Show. "I've been working on some impressions of accents through the decades" 1900s: "the manufacturer and the farmer, people thought it was very British, but it's actually very Dutch and German" 1920s: "They start getting very aware of the microphone" 1950s: "It starts to flatten out a little bit. I'd like to on a Friday night, I'd like to read a book on a Friday night" 1960s: "Diverges a little bit where there's an official sort of news hour... and then the sort of people in interviews looked like they were in shock" 1970s: "There's a whisper to it. There's a sort of confusion as to what's going on, there's a whisper" 1990s: "Very kind of laid back, wow, the nineties laid back, yeah, very sarcastic and ironic, wow" 2000s: "You start to hear the vocal fry... guys are in a meeting and they can sort of hear that throughout when they're talking on a conference call"

Yes, white parents are better than brown parents. One of the many reasons our civilizations are vastly superior (and you beg to be part of them).

Patrick Stewart spending a lifetime establishing himself as a distinguished Shakespearean actor, only to turn around and do the dumbest shit imaginable because he thought it was funny. RIP to a real one.
Reminder that when they offered the role of the poop emoji in the emoji movie to Jordan Peele, he took it as an insult and thought it was beneath him and it led to him quitting acting, so they were like "fine, we will offer it to Sir Patrick Stewart," and he gladly took the role and made jokes about how it was one of the most important roles of his career. RIP to a real one.

"And what attracted you to the Mike Rogers campaign?" "Well, he's American." Patriot.
Democrat Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign message is NOT resonating with black voters in Detroit. El-Sayed is banking on that voting block in Michigan, but from what these voters are saying on the ground, that’s far from guaranteed. One voter even admitted he’s a lifelong Democrat who’s crossing party lines to vote for Republican Mike Rogers. VOTER: “It’s a first time thing because I’ve been Democrat forever. So yeah, I’m switching Republican now.” Keep in mind, black voters in Detroit REJECTED El-Sayed during the Democrat primary — he received just 31% of the vote against Haley Stevens. He lost Detroit outright to Stevens by 28 points. If Rogers can secure even a portion of that vote, it could spell MAJOR trouble for El-Sayed next week. Democrats seem to think black voters will fall in line no matter who they put forward. But that’s not the case with this race.

The team behind ‘AMERICAN DAD’ have made a statement on the tragic passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. “We at American Dad! have so much gratitude and love for Patrick Stewart. He said how happy he was to do American Dad! because he was so rarely asked to do comedy, which is insane, as his ability to get the laugh was uncanny. Thank you, Sir, for sharing your joyful spirit, inspiring voice, and willingness to be ridiculous. You turned Avery Bullock, Deputy Director of the CIA, into someone the world loved and couldn't get enough of. We will miss you.”

Abdul El-Sayed will be 42 in 2 days with only 5yrs of work history. 42, wife, kids and a millionaire with only 5yrs. Where did the money come from? Nearly all of the jobs he was appointed to them. Never held a job longer than 2yrs. Can he complete a 6yr Senate term? Lol! Also, all through his career not only was he appointed but the process was speed up for him, like at Colombia. He also had favorable connections in medical school. It was also alleged in a lawsuit filed against AIGH that qualified women were over looked to hire young men that were in a network and social circle. El-Sayed was one of those first major hires who didn’t complete a residency and didn’t go through competitive open process. That lawsuit is still ongoing.
