Most men I meet aren't confident in their bodies. They're confident while performing. I know, because I was one of them. For years I looked strong on the outside. Inside I was braced almost all the time: jaw tight, hips locked, chest guarded, breathing shallow. I could train hard and still go stiff the moment someone really looked at me. The fitness world sells discipline, strength and masculinity. Very little of it touches what a lot of men quietly carry around: • nudity • intimacy • being desired • erections • softness • touch • letting anyone see them unsure A six pack can sit on top of a disconnected body. A strong man can still panic when he's truly seen. What changed for me wasn't mindset. It was learning to listen. Most tension isn't random. It has a history. Years of hiding, pleasing, protecting and performing, and your body adapted to all of it. You can start today. Try this right now: Unclench your jaw. Exhale slowly through your mouth. Drop your shoulders without forcing posture. Let your stomach go completely soft for 10 seconds. Now ask yourself: "What sensation do I avoid feeling most in my body?" Not what you THINK. What you FEEL. That question alone changes people. Here's what I've noticed since: most men never say any of this out loud to another man. They handle it alone, in their heads, at night. So I'm building a men's community, online, opening in October. A place to: • practice embodiment together • work on movement and mobility • talk openly about sex, intimacy and shame • be around men who've stopped performing Nobody to impress and no ranking. Just men being honest with each other. 💬 Reply MEN and I'll let you know the day it opens. If something in this post hit a nerve and you'd like to talk it through with me directly, DM ROOT. We'll have a conversation, and if working together privately feels right, we can look at that. If it doesn't, you still leave with something useful.

You're somewhere between 35 and 45. You still train. On paper you're "fine." But you get out of the car and your lower back needs a second. You sit on the floor with your kid and getting back up feels like a negotiation. And somewhere in the last few years you stopped feeling at home in your own body. You probably haven't said that out loud to anyone. Here's what 20+ years of training and working with men your age has shown me: Your hips hold more than you think. When the pelvis stops moving, a lot of the aliveness goes with it. You feel it in bed. You feel it in how you walk into a room, and in how much you still let yourself want things. And your lower back is where responsibility lives. The kids. The rent. The team that counts on you. The partner you don't want to let down. Most men I work with don't have a weak back. They have a back that hasn't been allowed to put anything down in years. Because you're the one who's supposed to have it handled, you stay quiet. Five minutes of stretching, maybe an ibuprofen, and back to carrying. If this is you, I want you to know something. You've been holding a lot, for a long time, mostly without anyone noticing. I notice. And I'm glad you're here reading this. So let me ask you straight: Where do you feel it more right now — hips or lower back? Drop it in the replies. I read every one. And if you'd rather talk about it privately in person, book a free call with me or DM me ROOT.

Imagine being naked with someone and not worrying about how your dick looks or whether it’s big enough. No hiding. No comparing. No trying to prove anything. Just being there, comfortable in your own skin. A lot of men in their 30s and 40s have never experienced that. So they keep trying to fix themselves. More size. More muscle. More porn. More reassurance. But you can’t build confidence by constantly looking for proof that you’re good enough. Because the problem was never just your dick. It’s what you’ve learned to believe about yourself because of it. You don’t need to love every inch of your body overnight. You need to stop treating it like something you have to apologize for. That’s where the work begins. If this hits close to home, DM me ROOT or visit my website. No judgment. No pressure. Just an honest conversation about what’s holding you back.

Imagine being a man in your 30s who actually feels at home in his body. You change at the gym without comparing yourself to everyone around you. You take your shirt off at the beach without wondering who’s looking. You touch your partner without questioning whether you’re desirable enough. You can slow down, feel what you feel, and say what you need without feeling less of a man. Sounds good, doesn’t it? Now, chances are you’ve already tried to get there. More training. Better nutrition. More discipline. Maybe even a little meditation. But here’s what we often get wrong: You can’t hate your way into loving yourself. And you can’t build genuine confidence by constantly trying to become someone who’s finally good enough. Self-love isn’t convincing yourself you’re amazing. It’s learning to stop treating yourself like a problem that needs fixing. Listen to your body. Get curious about your discomfort. Explore what you’ve been avoiding. Learn to stay present when you’d rather hide. Not to force yourself to feel confident, but to discover that you can be uncomfortable without being at war with yourself. That’s where real agency begins. Not when you finally look the part. When you no longer need to. If this hits close to home, I’d genuinely like to hear your story. DM me ROOT. Let’s talk about where this shows up in your life. No pitch. No pressure.

Imagine being 50 and not giving a second thought to taking your clothes off around other men. Feeling strong when you move. Comfortable in your own skin. Enjoying sex without worrying about how you look, whether you’re good enough, or what the other person thinks of your body. Just being there. Enjoying yourself. You’ve probably spent years working on yourself. Training hard. Eating well. Building your career. Taking care of your family. You know how to put in the work. But somehow, you can still feel insecure about your body. You might even be the fittest guy in the room and still compare yourself to everyone else. And that’s the frustrating part. You can’t always work your way out of insecurity by working harder. Another training plan won’t necessarily change how you feel when someone sees you naked. Knowing more about sex won’t stop you from getting in your head when you’re actually having it. And telling yourself to be confident doesn’t make you feel any more comfortable in your skin. Because there’s a difference between knowing you’re capable and actually feeling at ease in your body. The latter takes practice, too. Not just pushing your limits, but learning to stay present when you feel exposed. To notice when you’re holding tension. To stop judging every sensation, every movement, every perceived imperfection. It’s something you can work on. And you don’t have to wait until you look different to start feeling different. I’m curious: Where do you notice yourself holding back, even though you know you’re capable of more? My DMs are open if you’d rather talk privately.

Imagine being a man who feels completely at ease in his own body. You move without constantly feeling stiff or restricted. You can take your clothes off without worrying about how you look. Your mind is calm, but sharp. You feel strong without having to prove it. And you don’t spend half your life fighting yourself. Now, maybe you’ve tried working out harder. Stretching more. Reading books about confidence. Trying to fix your mindset. Pushing through discomfort and hoping things will eventually change. And maybe some of it worked. For a while. But you’re still carrying the same tension. Still overthinking. Still struggling to feel comfortable in situations where you wish you could just be yourself. Here’s what I think you’re missing: You can’t force your way into feeling at home in your body. You have to build a different relationship with it. That means learning to move without constantly judging your performance. To notice what you’re feeling instead of immediately trying to change it. To build strength and mobility while learning to listen to yourself, rather than treating your body like a problem to solve. Not another quick fix. Not another thing to get right. A practice that changes how you relate to yourself, one experience at a time. I’ve spent over 20 years exploring strength, movement and embodiment. And I’ve learned that being capable in your body and being comfortable in it are two very different things. If you’re a man in your 30s, 40s or 50s who’s ready to explore that difference, I’d genuinely like to hear your story. Send me a DM. We can have an honest conversation and, if you want, book a free call to explore whether and how I might be able to support you. No pressure to buy anything. Just a chance to figure out what’s actually going on and what might help.

Picture this. You walk into the sauna. Towel on the hook. You sit down and your head is quiet. No scanning the room. No comparing. No wondering who's looking at your belly. Later that week you see someone you're drawn to. You walk over. Chest open. Voice steady. And you actually stay in the conversation instead of watching yourself from the outside. At home, you can talk about sex with the person you love. Out loud. Without a joke to hide behind. That's possible. Most men I work with were just never shown how. Here's what happened instead. Dad never said a word about it. Mom changed the channel. School gave you one awkward afternoon with a diagram. So you learned from porn, the locker room, and guessing. Then you got to work. Built the career. The apartment. Maybe the kids. From the outside it looks solid. But the relationships keep ending around the same point. You still pull your stomach in when the shirt comes off. And in nude spaces, or in front of someone you want, sex floods your head so loud you can't think straight. Then comes the shame for thinking it. Nobody ever filled that gap for you. Your body has been trying to fill it on its own for decades. The way out starts in the body. Feeling what's actually happening when the heat rises. Breathing slower than the thought. Staying with it, without drowning in it or shutting it down. Letting someone see you without managing their reaction. I've spent 15+ years in movement and body work. This is what I do with grown men. One-on-one. No judgement. No locker room talk. If some of this landed somewhere in your chest, I'd like to hear about it. I'm opening a few free 20-minute calls. No pitch. Just a conversation about where you are right now. Link's in the first reply. Or DM me "ROOT".
