This is not a serious sports league… Having a pivotal finals game at 12:30 PM on a Thursday… 9:30 AM local time for the visiting team is absolutely bananas and unfair
After a weekend of nonstop frantic discussions and negotiation, Game 6 of the WNBA Finals will be played Thursday at 12:30 pm at 17,000-seat State Farm Arena in Atlanta, sources told ESPN.
The Atlanta Hawks-Cleveland Cavaliers game that night will move back to 8 pm to accommodate the doubleheader, just as the Hawks did for Game 4. This allows a potential Game 7 to remain scheduled for Halloween at Chase Center in San Francisco.
All three Finals games in Atlanta have required hurried adjustments to the schedule at State Farm Arena. It took collective efforts from the WNBA, NBA, the Hawks, State Farm Arena, Dream, Valkyries and broadcast partners to figure out the best course of action again.
By moving the game earlier in the day, the WNBA avoided a scenario where a potential championship game was played inside the Dream’s home arena, the 3,500 seat Gateway Center.
The other option under strong consideration was moving Game 6 to an open date at State Farm Arena on Friday and Game 7 to an open date at Chase Center on Tuesday, November 3.
Every year, Tennessee is good for one of these games on the road. This year it’s South Carolina. Bye week practices are going to suck and they should.
This is about as frustrated as I’ve been as a Tennessee fan for reasons both in Tennessee’s control (turnovers, stagnant offense) and outside of their control (bad officiating, penalties that weren’t). This is infuriating.
Another penalty on a Tennessee touchdown… I don’t know that I’ve ever seen this egregious by the officials. Like this is insane. 3 touchdowns negated by the refs is bad, unacceptable officiating.
If Tennessee wouldn’t commit dumb penalties on touchdown plays, this game would be over by now, and South Carolina would be down two or three scores. It’s genuinely infuriating
I, for one, have never said anything bad about Tennessee football, and obviously believed that we would be leading at halftime from the first moments of this football game. Right? lol
That was the most textbook targeting call I’ve seen in a long time. You could literally put that as the textbook example of targeting. Nothing to do about by South Carolina fans. That was perfect targeting
Oh, so this is going to be one of those exceptionally frustrating Tennessee games that makes every Tennessee fan wanna jump off a building the entire game, but maybe they pull it out in the end… Got it, got it. At least I know now what to expect.
