Why is it that whenever there is a forecast for heavy rainfall people quickly think about disasters? Why don't we ever think about how we can harvest the rainwater? What are we doing about climate change adaptation now that we know cyclic storms might become very normal.

Things are not good with the weather, this image from Zoom Earth is the most worrying, even the direction of Tropical Storm #Agueda towards the Kenyan coast, we need some explanations from Climate Scientists. The onset of the season looks disrupted.

This is sad. Lake Naivasha will continue to fill up and displace people because of the huge amount of topsoil and water getting into the lake through the rivers that have their catchment in the Abardares and which flow into Lake Naivasha
This is the kind of logging going on in the Aberdares. A forest now looks like a football field. Kenya Forest Service needs to tell Kenyans who is behind all this destruction.

Very true. This is clearing a forest, it is not harvesting. The rains are coming and all the topsoil will end in rivers.
The government is much more focused on deforestation. If mature plantation trees in Kereita have reached harvesting age, let them be harvested under proper management and replanted. We need timber production, but we also need to protect the forest and the water tower.

Painful to watch.
Everyone got a handshake until the black person came along. Keep being Christian though.

The video has been edited. Just before that, the pope shakes hands with priests and nuns of color. In other shots, you can see the Master of Ceremonies speaking to him, probably to tell him that he needs to greet the politicians. Full video and images x.com/PrinceDesPoete…

“For too long, we have treated climate action as a cost to be managed and air pollution as the unfortunate outcome of development,” said Inger Andersen, Executive Director of UNEP.

"This report shows the opposite: clean air is a key driver of development, health, food and energy security, and climate stability – an asset we must invest in," said Inger Andersen, Executive Director of UNEP.

Every US$1 invested in tackling climate change and air pollution together can generate around US$15 in economic benefits, according to a report published today by the UN Environment Programme @UNEP and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC).
